What he is saying is that there are three bolts that hold on each shackle base. There is a long bolt in the back of the base that extends to the bottom of the bumper. Instead of a bolt, he is going to use a threaded rod with two nuts. One nut on the top and one on the bottom. This is exactly...
I added the lower shackles as well. I think it looks good on these trucks. Got a nice set of the newer style shackles that are straight instead of having a bend like the top ones.
As I don't know what the answer to your question is. I do think that going with the Dexron is a better way to go. How much are you going to be changing the fluid in your transmission? For me and the amount of miles I will be putting on my truck (which is not a lot). I am changing it this one...
That's why I was wondering how much you actually get out of the trans just by draining it. I know you won't get all the fluid out, that's impossible. I'm just trying to build up a knowledge of what I need to do to change it. Thanks for the info.
The shifts on my truck are smooth. But the...
Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if that was the better way to go as well. Looks like another project for when the weather gets warmer. Is there a gasket that goes on the pan that I need to order online?
Are you going to want historic plates for your truck? If so then the A2 might not be for you. My A1 seems pretty peppy for what it is. Obviously this is not the type truck most people are used to driving. But from the other MVs I have driven... The 250 gets up and goes very well. Plus it will...
When you drain the fluid, about how much do you get out of the system? Just by using the drain plug to drain it? I'm curious because I would like to buy some new fluid but don't know how much to buy. Thanks guys.
Yes you are correct. The only difference between the 931 and the A1 is the singles.
I would stay away from the A2 trucks solely for the fact that it is a newer truck and I can't get historic plates. And I have heard the CTIS is a troublesome system. But that can be easily overcome by...
These trucks haul way more than that each day in service. Yes. It will do anything and everything you want it to. These are built for cargo. The deuce is built for troops.
To each his own. I personally like the look of the LED lights and I like the fact that I see a lot of newer trucks in the military having them. I enjoy making things on my truck to how they are being used by our troops. However, I don't have the cash to go to LEDs... So the originals work well...
Jon, another thing I noticed is that I don't hear the normal clicks when turning your run switch on. I think that has to do with your ABS light staying on. Another member had that issue and I read about it a couple weeks ago. If I track it down I will let you know. I can't quite remember what...
I just read through your entire thread. Looking good! Keep up the good work!
I thought it was funny in your picture of your toolboxes how you had brake fluid... You use that much on the 923? Kinda like blinker fluid... It's good to have around . Hahaha all in good fun. I might borrow...
Jon, Have you put the charger on your batteries yet? Also check their voltages while you have them out.
I have a spare box that will work to get an idea if that is the problem. Let me know, I can try putting it in tomorrow morning if the weather shapes up. It doesn't take long to do.
