    5kw CTMGSA help needed

What I'm concerned with more than the anything else is the IP pump. Seafoam could help but the tight tolerances inside the pump keep it out if it's stuck. I had a stuck pump on a JD tractor, and there was nothing that could be done to even get it apart. The shaft was sheared on it. I will look...

    5kw CTMGSA help needed

The rain slowed so I removed the tarp for a closer look. The throttle actuator moves freely and the cold start button does as well. Is there a test I can do, an inspection possibly, that would show that the IP is stuck or not without removing the IP? I did find where the dip stick should be. If...

    5kw CTMGSA help needed

Not sure but from reading other posts, if you can move the plunger...I'm thinking throttle, it's not stuck?

    5kw CTMGSA help needed

Probably about 18 years. Mice liked the fiberglass insulation, but after vacuuming that out it looks like new in there. One generator has 199 hours, the other 56. I saw another post where it was noted that if you don't make sure the IP is free you will damage it if it's stuck. I didn't want to...

    The plate on the engine says it's a F1L 208 F. 7.8 KW at 3600 RPM

    5kw CTMGSA help needed

I have 2 of these on a trailer. What I'm concerned with is the injection pump on each. They have been sitting along time unused. I noticed in another thread on these generators that the single cylinder Deutz diesel injection pump should be checked to make certain it moves freely. How should I do...

    MEP002a questions

Upon looking at those parts again the delivery valve stayed in the pump, and the button was protruding through the delivery valve. The spring was what stayed in the holder. I put the holder and spring back in the pump only hand tight waiting for your advice. Thanks

    MEP002a questions

I finally got back to this and removed the delivery valve holder. It was tight, but I saw where it should be at 70-80 ft-lbs so I wasn't worried too much at how tight it was. All of the parts, and delivery valve stayed in the holder. There is a small button in front of the delivery valve when...

    MEP002a questions

Ray, I took off the 1" cap, and it had liquid dripping out, but the 5/8 bolt is very tight. What is that torqued to? I will need a breaker bar with a cheater to remove it and I'm reluctant to put that much force on it. I'm spraying it with penetrant hoping it might help. Can I cause damage by...

    MEP002a questions

I filled the last filter with Seafoam(I think that is comparable to Berrymans), bled the air from the line to the pump, and turned on the pump to build pressure. I turn the pump on occasionally to try keep pressure on the IP. This is the only way I can see to get product into the pump. I had...

    MEP002a questions

Reading that some people fill the last filter with acetone and turn over the engine listening for the return flow to the tank, what if a thin lubricating oil was used in place of the acetone, or mixed with it? With the fuel pump pressurizing the IP, and pushing the oil into the IP, could I rock...

    MEP002a questions

To R&R the IP and lines am I going to need gaskets, washers, o-rings etc.? I'd like to have what I will need before I start. If the pump is damaged inside will I be able to see any problem, or will I need to have it tested? Thanks

    MEP002a questions

Thanks guys, that's very good to know. When the IP is out, is it safe to move it in reverse to get it back to where it was, or does it need to be rotated forward only?(and 2 turns to avoid being 180* out?) Is it apparent when I have it out which way it should turn? Thanks

    MEP002a questions

The linkage moves, but what is the nut with the slot in the stud adjusting?(that is below the linkage)? If that is supposed to move ... it doesn't. There is a spring behind it, that could be attached to that stud. I can't see back in there. The spring loaded shaft, and the lever below it that...

    MEP002a questions

From what I understand I should not have turned the engine over with a wrench. By doing this my understanding is I would have damaged the IP if it was stuck, and it would not have made a difference how far I turned it. Being that it is already damaged, or it is operable, an unknown, is there...

    MEP002a questions

The picture of the trailer hitch shows the line from the control box w/breakers entering the main box in the front. I'm wondering if this setup would also allow me to use the L1,L2,L3,L0 with the control knob on the dash?

The ring does lift without resistance. I only feel the spring pressure. What should do next?

    MEP002a questions

The linkage looks complicated. The spring loaded shaft moves up and down. It was sticky at first. I think I'm looking at the right thing. I think there is a stop at the bottom that's adjustable, and a solenoid that allows the throttle to move when it's running with oil pressure. When I turned...

    MEP002a questions

I have the Bosch pump, it has the screw. The 1st thing I did when I pulled it out of the woods was to see if the engine was stuck. If it was stuck, I would have parted it, or scrapped it, and not bothered with all the cleaning, buying filters etc. My mistake. With that JD tractor IP...I found...

    MEP002a questions

I did drain the old fuel, but I've left the IP alone. I put a wrench on the engine, and it isn't stuck, so it has that much going for it. The old fuel was clean, but amber in color. I'm not sure if you're saying I should remove the IP, but I'm not qualified to do a rebuild. I had a JD tractor...
