Sorry, about previous post.. I had same problem.. my intake horn had a brass nut and try to use it, however the hole to manifold appeared smaller than nipple opening. So I moved to the center of intake( dead center of the 6 bolt). work but gauge is flaky works intermitently.
I am using a Gm 3...
Pedals are going to be biggest problem. I have the hyd. For square bodies in my 1009 and I used the clutch pedal from a 91.. even heavily mod. The one from the 400 series truck worked better than hyd. Set up... think slave master cylinder ratio is bit off..I used 208 t case that way you can...
Thanks .. my issue I think is in throw out bearing and the pivoit arm, I have an adjustible gm type to acomodate the fly wheel thickness. I probably have to shim it out a bit,and crank in the pivot ball and use different fork.. I used all gm nv4500 crap.. way too many different parts.
Npt threaded 1/2 brass nipples... I use some earl AN fittings and 3/8 to after market oil cooler with thermostatic valve.. cost about 150 bucks for swap.. tired of messing with line..
I think I got from e trailer
Mine swap was direct... just use a single mass flywheel and cross member for a 700r4 and 208 t-case.... I did not have to do anything to my driveshaft. Because I eliminated the pedistol mount between the trans and t case. Nv4500 has mounting at rear of case. Hardest thing figuring out the hyd...
Had about 2 inches of clearance. No lift.. it worked great although I never reacted any of the dukes of Hazzard jumps... I think there pics if you do a search..
In my opinion, it was easier than doing humvee engine swap in 1009 adding turbo and all that... I got stupid and let my mind wonder. But if you get agm automatic adaptor (400 Th will bolt directly) figure out motor mounts it fairly simple.. Thank god there no glow plugs.. btw the only thing...
dude check out the dt360 they came with a P pump or dt408 dt466, is just huge.. I am big fan of dt360 & 408 good econ. wet sleave motor rebuild kit are inexspeniive ect..
It helps if live in appalachiania, seem to have a inhaustible amount Youngins with facial hair in odd configuration that work, sleep and eat cummins. Several of theem have been wealth of knowledge. Local knowledge of 6.2 and 6.5 is limited to their fathers that long ago gave up on that platform...
Seems like alot of companies have gone that way... wonder if the MBA who thought of this got his retirement cut, and will we see him at wal mart passing out buggies
Assume you taling about the ATF ??? if so use it as an after cooler.. on the return side trany line.
I think the line of thought, putting all the coolers in one radiator, was trany and engine oil would help bring the engine up to operating temp quicker.. however the trans runs alot hotter than...
Ok I have shifting really well, I went with the old stand by of electrical tape a 1/4 drive socket to end of slave cylinder rod, however I think it eating my preasure plate, makes trebible racket and feel like the clutch partially engaded??? I am kind of have mind to run as is til it breaks and...
Mine took 3 weekends to do.. about 6mo of research to do.. easiest swap there is is 4bt with th475 (th400) it has a gm adpator on it and set the motor at 15 degree tilt, this advoids the pumkin nicely, and will bolt up directly to your existing turbo 400 with the existing torque converter.. the...
Have to agree with Astro, the radiator is really taxed wirth atf cooler and engine oil cooler integrated into one hear sink... the engine suffer from uneven cooling and higher temp generated from IDI injection.
I have derail twin fan controller in my 1009 4bt set up ... it is nice , each fan can have it own set point depending on the coolant needs. Mine fan 1 kicks on 180 fan two 200 .
Also feature if fan has two speeds.. cummins run alot cooler than v8...
You have crap starter relay look up dogheads relay in the wiki I think. ? But anyway rebuild starter, do the doghead thing if you keep 24 volts, replace the cable and wires.. it might help if mt 28 type starter wiegh alot less than the old type
Dude... If persists ... Check the return line on injection pump.. The whole glass ball thing.. Systoms sounds similar.. My two cents from another dumbass Seabee
