I got one with a rotten wooden trunk thrown in it. One had a flat NDC tire and a chunk of concrete. One had a dead cat carcass. And one had ...... nothing.
I'd go with the lizard skin stuff over the carpet. The cab isn't too weather/ water proof as your probably finding out. Also makes it easy to clean. Mine is always getting mud or snow or something on the floor. I just sprayed some bedliner on mine so its not so slick - not so much for sound...
Banana peels also work to quiet an engine. An old, used car salesmans trick is to dump in a heavy oil to make the engine sound smooth.(probably used the banana peels if it was lunch time).:grd:
What happens when the garbage truck rolls down the street or when someone gets delivery from UPS or Fedex or needs a moving van or a concrete truck shows up to pour a new driveway?? Doesn't make any since to me.
A winch looks cool - but it was low on my priority list. Overall condition ,spring seat, heater, drop side, air shift, troop seats, cover among other things. Things add up pretty quick, look at everything before you decide what you want.
Just my opinion here - I think people in general have become accustomed to things being quick, easy and convenient. The duece is not condusive to that mindset. However, when I pass the open top Amish buggies in this freezing a** weather I feel like I'm cruising in a cadillac.
The testing site here had a truck and trailer combo you could use for a fee (150.00) Also you could do a test run through with the inspector for I think 100.00. That was worth it as he tells you everything you need to do to pass. There truck was an automatic so it was much easier to back through...
I just repaired a couple of tires this week. One just an hour ago. I found the hardest part (without real tire tools) is getting the split ring off. After that, I thought the rest of the process was easy. I can see why you would want this type of wheel/ tire/ tube combo for repairs in the field.
I thought - OH cool a calender - but was slightly annoyed with the Thursday GL reminder. Kinda ruins the calender in my opinion. It would have been more interesting to have significant anniversaries acknowledged or something similar.
