I have always wire brushed the inside and the beads, then hit it with a coat of paint to stop the rust. Thats it!

Did you use the zipper or the solid boots?

Replace the belts and clean the pulleys so no oil is on them? I know when I did that with my air compressor all the noise stopped. J.R.

The winches are rated for 10,000 pounds. That is 10,000 lbs vertical pull, not inclined pull like the civvy winches are rated. You should be able to compare that winch with a 15,000 or 20,000 civvy winch. J.R.
