"Now we are trying to work something out where he will get my good 16" wheels and tires and I will get his 16.5" wheels and some cash."
I was looking for 16.5 inch rims and found that from '66 to '77 all Chevy, Dodge and Ford one tons had those size rims. I hit the junk yard and BANG 4 rims...
Ok folks. I had the priviledge to be the A-driver in the Rumblin' Wreck on the night trail ride Thursday night and was lucky to be invited to take the wife and son along on the afternoon ride Friday. I have a few opinions on the improvements.
The LIGHTS:----
I can honestly say that the lights...
Where do you plan to put the bathroom? I have to say--the tag along camper is gonna be the best thing you can do. I think that it will be a ton easier. We actually had a guy doing it with a company I worked with and he was allowed to stay on site with power and all. A small cheap fixer up camper...
I have to agree competly with Marcus here. A good Mulit Meter is you friend when dealing with electrical issues. For less than $20 its money well spent. My son is 6 and can do a couple of basic things with it so dont be intimidated if you are just learning with one. They are not that hard to...
Sticky is at the top of the CUCV pages. The follow up on the upgrade post is actually an e-mail he sent to me in answer to a question I asked.

This is a good time to replace the belts if needed as well as the hoses. I replaced mine and kept the old ones as spares. I heard that the harmonic balancer can dry rot (after I did mine)..might wanna check...

I have NO connection whatsoever to 48cj2a but I think that would be your best bet.
Just cleaning those things is worth the money and small bit of time it takes to put pins in!!!!
It's enough to make a preacher cuss.
Check on the price of getting the old rad reworked vs a new one. New is gonna run ya Around $300 from advance. Besure to replace the u channel rubber where the rad sits. They have it at NAPA and they are universal cut to fit. I replaced both upper and lower hose as well as the t-stat with new...
I really think it is petty. If Chris is cool with it then the rest have no say. I think the biggest problem you should have is deciding which trail they should take when you tell them to take a hike.
There are a heck of a lot more important things in this world to worry about. Like picking...
I recently had to go through my dash cluster and had some of the same questions. If you will go to the CUCV section and do a search you will get access to more information than I could possibly put in here. That being said--There are 2 diffrent bulbs. One is the 168- it is the most common. The...
I can tell you from expirence that "WARTHOG RULES!" when it comes to electrical. Thanks again Wharthog!!
Here are a few tips I found helpfull:
1) Time and persistance needed when dealing with electrical. Have a rock handy to throw across the shop into an old metal garbage can. It will...
