    Swapping a Cummins 290 into a M939 series truck

Well, I won't be at the 2014 Sussex NJ show with my truck. I hit a wall with a few parts. I was making great progress but the odds were against me. I am doing a bunch of custom work to make everything fit like "the factory" did the work. I will be painting the front frame while the motor and...

M915 A1 Remove some leafs in rear?

I am working on a M915 for a customer. We added 1400/20 tires to the truck and it helped the ride quality a lot. Putting a M35A3 bed on the back tomorrow, some extra weight on the back will help even out the truck. Right now all the weight is on the front. You can check it out at the Sussex NJ...

    Swapping a Cummins 290 into a M939 series truck

I have been working 16 to 18 hour days working on the swap. The Cummins 290 is the same block as a Cummins 250 but they are different in just as many ways. I am replacing all of the rubber O-rings, hoses and doing all the hard work while the engine is on the stand. I have had to make some custom...

    Swapping a Cummins 290 into a M939 series truck

Ever since I bought my first 5 truck. I have always wanted to put in a more powerful engine. I bought a rebuilt Cummins 290 a few years back and put it on mothballs. Last year I sold a Cummins 400 big cam to Setvepala. Well now it is my time and I am biting the bullet and getting it done before...

    FASS in a M923 with Cummins 250

Stevepala was one of the first people to telling me about the benefits of a FASS. I did a ton of research and discovered the benefits to the Cummins 250. I do agree that adding a lift pump and better filter would help the Cummins motors but they would not remove the air from the fuel.

    24.5 or 22.5 wheels on M818

Military tires are the cheapest right now. Changing the rims and the price of commercial rubber will break the bank. I guess it depends if you have a cheap source for tires.

    FASS in a M923 with Cummins 250

csm davis, the oil pressure switch that comes with the unit will turn the unit on. I did the install by the book to keep the operation of the truck simple for the customer. I think when I do this on my truck I will wire it to run off my main switch.

Thank you for your comments Ron. Yes, there is no substitute for good maintenance. A FASS in not a solution for everyone, but it does have noticeable benefits. On your question about where the air comes from, Well a momma air and a Daddy air get together. LOL! No seriously, All fuel has...

    FASS in a M923 with Cummins 250

I have done a lot of research into improving the Cummins 250. There are a lot of things I like about the Cummins 855 based motors. I am not the best writer and I always try to make my posts easy to read, so I am sorry if some of my statements seem confusing. I will try to clarify some of my...

    FASS in a M923 with Cummins 250

I did months of research here on SS and online. I developed a theory and then asked the techs at Pittsburgh power and FASS. Yes, everyone agreed that supplying pressurized fuel with out air and filtered to Pt pump will improve the way any diesel motor runs. The 8.3L cummins has a lift pump...
