    Battery problems

Interstate battery stores also carry "blemish" optima batteries.Mine cost $100.00 each and still had a 2 year warranty. One had a chipped corner the other was missing the plastic film cover.Well worth it if you can find them.

    Driving down the road and..

The install tool is what we made with the all thread.Though much simpler than the one you posted from fluidampr. Ours used the correct thread all the way through the tool and was one piece, factory washer, and a bolt from fastenall.Cut the all thread to the length we needed, ground the thread to...

    Driving down the road and..

Just to clarify. The reason a bolt was needed was to install the new harmonic balancer. I still had the factory bolt.So we cut off a section of the all thread in a length long enough to install the balancer.Used the all thread to seat the balancer, then installed the original bolt.

    Driving down the road and..

M1009 I heard two very short ping ping sounds, then nothing abnormal.Thought I may have a little bit of unusual vibration as I continued. I left the truck running and got out to investigate. There was a decent wobble in the harmonic balancer(not horrible, but enough).Finished driving it...

    tires/wheels

I am running the 33x12.5x15s. I had a very slight fender rub.I fixed it with a pair of pliers. The rub only happened when making sharp turns on the very inside of the fender well.I bent the metal back maybe 1/2 an inch,no more rub.

HMMWV swing out tire carrier on M1009

I should have my new mount finished by this weekend.I will post pictures when it is done. The base I started with was a 1991 Chevy blazer rear tire carrier. Not a perfect solution, but that rear cargo space is needed for camping.

    Portable diesel fuel/gas extractor.

I think this is a great idea. I have a manual set up currently. The pump is a manual drum pump I picked up in the grease isle at tractor supply for around $20.00. I use it on a 15 gallon drum though the drum has to be moved out of my M1009(not enough roof clearance for the pump handle). Having...

I was just there.Picked up a center console out of a 1986 K5 for $12.00. It has a very good condition shell, that I did not pick up and is mostly intact. They also have 5 or so 80s suburbans as of today. There is at least one with a center console.Number 10 metric socket is all that is needed to...

    M1009 ignition circuit problems

The 30A fuse is not large enough.Trust me I tried this as well it will blow in very short order.I found fusible links at napa of the appropriate size. Second it sounds like your front battery ground is bad(did you melt down the post?).Clean where it attaches in front of the battery, and the lead...

    M1009 electrical problem

I had to add this after reading your sig line... Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
