Well it's sort of if it sells then it sells if it doesn't then it doesnt. Not looking to dump it off quick but if someone pays the right price...then maybe I'll get a wrecker or a 920!
Every time I read that I learn more and more, time to read it again!
Drove it around some more today during...
Ok, so I finally got around to doing some work on the 10 ton. I ditched the stock fuel filter set-up for a 2 spin on filters and added a ball valve post filter so I wouldn't have to re-prime to the IP every filter change. Much to my surprise the truck started right up after the filter change and...
I thought Quonsett show was suppose to be the 16/17th? Did it get chnaged?
Is there anyone in the area that would be able to help me adjust my NHC250? I just can't seem to get it right, and I can't stand not driving the truck.
I reset the lever when I finished working on the engine and even checked to make sure the cut off wasn't seized closed inside the valve. I also tried the manual bypass on the electric solenoid with no luck.
I ran it long enough on starting fluid to fill the air tanks (re: can and a half)...
Yup, that is how I did it. My torque wrench is brand new.
I was told that if there is fuel still in the injector you will get a false reading. That's the only thing I'd think would be the problem but i thought that's what the point of torquing it multiple times was.
Yea, I'm getting fuel returning to the tank and to the IP/head.
It seems like the next step is to increase the torque on the injectors because they aren't injecting fuel.
I got the truck back together and now it won't start. I know it's a fuel issue because it runs with starting fluid. The truck is primed and the lines have fuel: the filters are full and the line at the tanks is. The electric solenoid is bypassed as well and still nothing.
I originally bought deuce thinking i couldn't afford a 5 ton but ended up selling it a few months later for an M818 with a shortened deuce bed. I like the 5 ton a lot better. I don't know what everyone else is talking about but just the power steering makes it 10x better offroad. The 818 is...
I kind of figured that but didn't realize it till after I adjusted the valves already! aua
Yea, I've been using the accessory drive to turn it. The nut that was on it was 1 1/4" but it stripped out and the nut I got from Cummins is 1 5/16." Agrred on bending the feelers. It worked well.
Looks...
I don't recall the springs in cylinder 1 being longer than the others but #2 exhaust spring is definitely longer. Is there anyway to tell if the other valves are ready to go as well?
Yea, I was using that thread as my guide otherwise I'd be :cookoo:
Now here's the deal: I've got an M818 that was running poorly, smoke, fuel in coolant, no power at all. So, I pulled the injectors and cylinder #2 had no tip left. I figured they are cheap enough I'll replace them all. After swapping the new ones in the truck ran poorly, smoked a TON, and...
Unfortunately no trailer. I was going to put it in the bed of my 5 ton. But I suppose flat towing would work fine as long as the tires will hold air or get some spares which I might have.
How soon do you need it done? I have a bit of work to do on my 5 ton which will take at least a couple weeks since I have to go to PA to get tires on the 13thish.
