Re: RE: 818 on 16x20 singles, what trailers?
I'd consider a commercial, but the typical box style trailer would sit really high in the front wouldn't it?
I know where there is an M295 chassis I was thinking about (Think M313 trailer), but it seems short on the distance to the bend in the...
I'm still trying to gather the parts to get my 818 reliable, but I'm starting to think about trailers.
Does anyone know what trailers will work w/o issues with the big 52" singles? I know I've seen pics of a members truck towing an M270a1, but those are few and far between and expensive.
So...
Re: RE: 5 ton transfer case needed
I think the old 5 ton's and m-809 trucks are the same case. The 939's are different.
I need one for my M818 (drops out of high range)
Rodney in WI (the guy selling tires on ebay) is checking on one for me, says he knows a guy that may part some trucks out...
I accidentally ran mine dry once. I had to call a heavy truck mechanic as I was stranded on the side of the interstate. We got fuel back in the tank, and filled the fuel filter. Then he pulled off a big plug on top of the injection pump and filled the pump with fuel. Gave it some ether and...
I am in the region of WI that had the bad floods, and the NG here has been helping out. So at work I get to see a bunch of M917 dump's drive by all day long (makes it hard to do work).
Once in awhile one will get stopped at the light right outside the window. I just was checking one out and...
Interesting info. I was wondering what the base on my M818 was for, I can remember seeing the switching on the bottom so it must be a MX-6707 .
Can the bases be adapted to work with anything other than the 12 series radios? I think it would be neat if it could be made to work with a FM radio...
There is a couple inches clearance. Nothing to worry about, they won't rub. If you think about the suspension geometry, both tires on one side would have to droop for the tires to come closer together. How often is that going to happen? Maybe when I jump it  Even then I don't think the...
Wheels came with the tires, check on ebay. Guy is in Marshfield, WI I went and picked up mine personally. I know he has loads of wheels lying around though.
Hemmt Split ring. Hubs are not flipped. Just flipped the rear wheels around. They don't track perfect, but they aren't too bad.
Haven't gotten it out on the road yet. I have some more work to do first, but I took it around on the camp roads and was liking it alot. I think I'm going to...
For more eye candy I will throw in the pic I took today in Oshkosh of a bunch of hemmt's lined up at the oshkosh air port. Also, a pic of a shop I drove by, looks like they make trailer axles there.
I put on my 16:00x20's this weekend. What a PITA. Just myself, my tractor, an air compressor, 1" impact, and a 20 ton bottle jack.
I'm really sore today :!:
BTW: I got the tires from Rodney on Ebay. Good guy to deal with and all the tires have REALLY high tread.
