I will be leaving it the factory setup. That chain may very well be 40 years old for all I know. Be a good idea to change it. I imagine them breaking can be catastrophic to the casing? Hope new chains are as good as factory ones ....doubt it
Yeah man. Warner Bros even paid me to display it at the Willy Nelson concert to advertise for the Johnny Knocksville dukes movie. Had a paystub. Made it legit ;)
It's apparently more complicated than that as the TC will not disengage the driveshaft. So it'll still be working most of the stuff, probably won't make a big enough difference to warrant the work. I drive it around the city... mileage - smileage
Also fuel milage wasn't a concept at that point yet...maybe a little bit in the civilian world in 76 but definitely not in the military lol. We still used gas deuces at that point ...
I can't see this being a very difficult thing. Even mounting a switch and a separate gauge would be easy so both pumps weren't running together. They're actually a problematic pump and can leave you stranded! Having a backup is always a good idea
I believe someone makes a kit that mounts under the floor... it's not a huge job either just separated the front and rears I believe. The main problem is they don't want to spend the money on them and mods probably have to be approved by Bombardier or something dumb like that
With regards to the extra fuel tank not that I have seen but I'm sure someone here has done it lol. Spare tires I've seen all kinds of clever ideas for.
