Was messing around in the yard just before dark and just had to see. Hits the exhaust just sitting there and only has 2" of clearance between top of tire and the fender. A 4" lift might work with the exhaust moved to the back of the cab but it looks like a 6" may be better.
I would probably try a 4" lift and if they don't work, put the 46's on and keep trying to sell the 53's. If the exhaust is the only problem I would have then it isn't a big issue as I plan on moving the exhaust behind the cab. I don't plan on using the truck for extreame off road, mostly for...
Had the 46's and bought the 53's on rims. I went from not knowing what to do about tires to having too many options LOL. It will be fun to see what these 53's look like on the truck once the bobbing is complete.
I picked them up so it looks like I need to make a decision. Had a couple people say they wanted them, one even told me what he would pay so I purchased them with that in mind and then they backed out. Guess I might just have to see if I can get them to work on the Duece. These things are huge!
Yes I did. They are about 90% on average and the XZLs are brand new. Can you give me some insight on the comments about lack of power and breaks since you have a bobbed deuce with 53s? I know you lifted yours but I talked with a guy near Flint that is finishing up a truck with 53s and no lift...
I was able to get a nice set of 5 Michelin 46" tires for my Bobbed Deuce project and started looking for some rims. Ran across a set of Michelin 53" XZLs on the rims that I want and was thinking about buying the set and peddling the tires.
Before I do that, I wanted to solicit some opinions on...
You may be able to duplicate this for $15,000 in parts but there are more people with the money to purchase this than there are people with the time and skill it would take to build it.
I stopped by a shop here in Michigan that is building custom trucks. He has an extended cab on air bags...
I know that people had problems getting product from this guy when he was in business but I was curious about the quality of what he did when he did deliver? I found a set of Rims locally that a guy has on his mud truck and he wants to sell the rims and tires. Is the quality generally OK...
It looks like most of the trailers in Indianna are missing the tailgate rack. Is this something that is readily available or will the bidding be brisk for those that actually have the rack?
I watched the 2 trailers that were auctioned up here in Michigan go for $600 each when the trailers in Florida, many that looked better in the pictures, were going for $150 and many didn't sell at all.
Anyone ever buy a trailer out of state, preferably Florida, and then paid someone to pick...
Mike,
I looked at Clintdigger97's auctions and was wondering about the quality of the tires he sells. Says they have weather checking and I think 60% tread left but had no idea how bad they were. Did you have them shipped or did you go get them? I was thinking that it might be better to...
I wanted to bid on a trailer they have in Lansing Mi but when I called the number listed it was some guy in Arizona who said no one would be available for previews. Guess you have to know someone at the facility if you want to do an evaluation. Based on the bidding so far I would guess someone...
Sorry to dig up an old post but did you get your M105 springs mounted? I have been thinking about going this route since I have not had any luck locating M35 front springs. Can you post pictures?
Thank you.
Shiawasee County about 5 miles NE of Corunna. Started with a M38, got a M37 and a couple of residue parts trucks, and then picked up the M109 for a camper/tow rig. Still want to tow with it but I really think it would get more use if I made it into a bobbed cargo truck. I even have...
Thanks for the link. I did a search missed that one somehow. I can't imagine just dropping 4000# box from that height without damaging it but I guess it works.
It has been a while since I was active in MVPA so I don't really know too many with trucks anymore. I am just west of Flint if you should know anyone in the area I could contact.
I had thought about that but not sure which direction I will be going with the new bed and not sure how many...
Great idea, thanks. Not wanting to drop a 4000 box from that height but the rollback should work! Of course I need to find a good place to keep it because I wouldn't want to move it a second time!
I am contemplating Bobbing my M109 and will need to get rid of the Van Body to do so. When I originally purchased the truck it was to make a camper for our off road weekends but life changed and won't be needing it for that any longer. I am thinking that a bobbed truck would be better all...
