That is why I made a tonneau cover for mind that stows to the back of the cab. It also has custom (removable) mirrors for street. The windshield frame has removable hinge pins for the times that a folded w/s isn't enough. :D I put a lot of thought and flexibility into my build...
The long version to my build is here.

As soon as I have time to get all the info together, it'll be listed for sale.
There has been 1.9TDI's and some Mercedes diesels (mostly in Europe) installed in 710 and 712. The main problem is that you need a high rpm diesel to make it roadable.
The TD Pinzes are 8" longer in the wheelbases and increase in the engine bay to fit the VW 6 cylinder diesel engine than the...
That is a Stewart & Stevenson made truck. There were a few RHD trucks that were sold off during the liquidation of the Sealy facility in 2014, along with other R&D vehicles. My Pinzgauer was among those vehicles.
You can see in the video the air tanks/battery compartment, and the later...
You can with ouija board.
Back in 2012 though '14, I had many running conversations with a BAE manager. One was regarding the VIN only being on the dataplate. He said later on, the VIN was also added to a second location. I don't remember exactly, but the right frame rail seems to come to...
Oh, I think you have but didn't know it.:D
The "B" kit required the removal of all the original glass and the plates bolted to the "warts" on the LTAS cabs.
Back when BAE was closing, I was hoping to get this truck with a "non" certified "B" kit. Hard to believe that it is an 'add-on' kits...
NDT is referring to the one way check valve in the other gladhand line, and it is to charge the air tanks. There is a 'T' in the line and the other leg goes to a two way valve behind the driver step.
Thank you firefinder, and welcome to this site.
Could you post or pm me which was the truck you got. On a quick search I had seen 4 topless M1084's, and just quickly looked over them.
I'd be happy to help you where I can from my experience with the FDT. I also have a photobucket with a lot of...
Yeah, I knew that, they were long gone before I got my M1094 in 2012.
I was wondering if anyone has the metal grille on their truck when released.
The metal grille was part of the factory rehab when/if done.
Ok, I just had a brain fart while writing a reply to another thread.
When I was rebuilding the FDT, the original composite (POS) grilles were long gone and got the new replacement steel grille .
Typically, all the ex-mil trucks I remember seeing all have the composite grille.. I’m just...
I doubt those M1084s ( 4 of them out of Ohio) were War Pigs in the sense they would had probably been used to resupply outlaying outposts/communities, utilizing the crane to offload palatalized supplies quickly.
The cab of those truck were cutoff ( nothing to think they’re a LVAD cab) and...
There was a kit for converting from a WTEC II to WTEC III
This was sent to me years ago as the "kit" drawing for trucks converted (in case mine had been converted).
Accept it at face value as is, I have no other info on it.
Though I don't have any new photos, the end of last year did have me in contact with BAE in the UK, that fruited some basic numbers for Pinzgauers made in the UK., and more questions.
For reference, TD Pinzgauer VINs start at #1 and continue up year after year (never reset to 1), even with the...
Those weights are from the TM for R&Ring a complete cab.
The original number was from memory from my research 4 years ago... I'm better at remembering LVAD info.
Throw a radio and a scrawny driver in the cab, and 1575 is right on :)
Thanks for the link you sent.
The front left corner is hammered on that truck, I might have the door that's missing. lol
Glass and frames were/are the least of my worry for the LVADs. I'm in the glass industry and with the help of another person, I had the windshield frame straighten/racked...
Breakers go by amps only. I only had 5 breakers when I received my truck. I had no luck finding them back then, so I used good old ATO fuses :-D. It actually works out good. As I went through systems one by one, I figure a fuse would blow immediately, where as a 'unknown' CB could be defective...
Back in the day when I was working on the FDT, I had made sectional pdf's from the TMs of items I needed to address, and the PDP was the first.
This is for the "A0" cab. Most of the relays are SPST (4 pin) , but a few are SPDT(5 pin). Just pay attention to the trigger voltage
2 more M1094s, as I said the rarest of the LVAD :-D.. I'd be interested to know their condition.
I had been told by BAE there is a video of a M1094 having a chute "malfunction" , but they weren't able to locate it.
One person was wondering if it was mine, but another tech said 'no'...
