I second the 5-Ton split. I would be nice to have the 5-Ton forum and sub-forums for all the families. M809, M939, M977/HEMTT, etc. We could still search the 5-Ton generally or specifically for model families.
Has anyone used Baldwin filters in place of Napa? Ive read that in general Baldwin has better micron ratings. Are the 10 micron Napa filters enough?
Canister:
Baldwin PF316 - Napa 3401
Spin-on:
Baldwin BF7921- Napa 3472
I'm not feeling any drag or brake smell over the norm. At 90* up the brake is securely engaged. When I drop it, the light/buzzer turns off and the lever is "loose" but it just sits at 30*. Any further down and it springs back up.
What's the best way to make sure its not dragging? Either a -TM #...
After reading through the -23 manuals for parking brake adjustment, I'm still a bit confused with an issue I'm having. My parking brake lever correctly engages the brakes when pulled up. When I push it down, it disengages the brakes, but will not stay down parallel to the cab floor. It springs...
How much? I fear shipping to UT would be expensive.
I think I'm going to ask around at some local muffler shops if they'll bend me a piece of 4" pipe to replace the muffler and keep the stock stack.
The muffler on my M923A2 has a bunch of pinholes on the bottom I don't think any are bigger than 1/16". I'm guessing water sitting in the muffler rusted through. It seems solid, but who knows what the condition is like inside. Does the air escaping have much of an effect on the performance of...
I think after I fix this I'm going to take some time and build my own module. It'll have 2 switches on it that enable/disable the buzzer for air and brake. Also will include some kind of circuit protector to keep it from frying.
My switches are working okay. They send the correct signals to the module and the module buzzes correctly. It's just not sending enough juice up to the warning lights. I've found a few suppliers of the module. Just wanting a 2nd opinion of my diagnosis that the box itself has crapped out.
Thread hijacking a little here, but my FWCM is on the fritz. Buzzer works when brake is applied or air is low. But it's only sending about 5V to the warning lights. I'm guessing something is fried in the box and I'm searching for a replacement. Am I barking up the right tree?
Basically, if you're hooked to the slave plug, you're plugging your Solargizer into the bottom left and top right lugs from my original picture. Makes sense. How well does it keep the charge up?
I have a 4 battery setup in my M923A2 and a Solargizer is already installed, but not hooked up to the batteries. I haven't been able to find a manual for the Solargizer so what leads are the correct ones to hook up to for proper function?
