Modern electric blankets are economical very versatile.
If you mounted a gen-set in the rear cargo area you could then have seat covers made out of an electric blanket.
Where I live I don't worry about threats from two legged critters as much as I do four legged ones.
During certain times of the year I spend time in the woods, sometimes at night. I don't like bears and wolves and I definately don't like cougars. Thankfully, I've never had to liquidate any of...
One of the nice things about the multi is that the fuel settings are easy to adjust. I personally would be concerned about removing the droop screw but as far as adjusting it goes --- what the heck --- stick your finger in it and find out.
From my limited experience, it doesn't take much of a...
Hammer ... I wouldn't do that. More isn't always better. I believe the droop screw controls the fuel delivery up to 1,600 RPM - not 2,000. If you throw too much fuel into the engine it will just spit it out --- wet stack --- it might even invite a scored liner.
Did you search "Droop Screw"...
I agree with your concerns about burning up a starter. My deuce is hard to start even in the summer after it sits all night. Once it's been ran it will start immediately for he rest of the day therefore I give it a shot just about every morning. I'd rather do that than crank for 20 to 30...
Check to see if the in-tank fuel pump is running. You should be able to hear it before you start the engine --- with the switch on.
These trucks will run (assuming you can get them started) with the in-tank pump not working but they won't "always" run like they should. It's something to...
Thanks for the post wreckerman. I think it was a wake-up call to all of us.
One thing for sure --- this is one bald headed fat man that is going to keep his C02 fire extinguisher handy from now on.
mangus I couldn't get your instructions to work. Perhaps you're using a Mac. It could also be because I'm digitally challenged
Anyway --- I found after you click on an old link (I've filed a bunch of them in my IE Favotites) and then get the "New Posts" page on the new site, if you...
FIRST --- Welcome to SS RandyinTexas.
Buy it --- you'll like it. If you don't --- there's always a market for M109s. Go for it :-D
SECOND --- Thank you OPCOM for that excellent post! To my way of thinking this is what SS should be all about. I know that RandyinTexas qualified his question...
WHY!
I've got a keyed battery isolator switch (ref: JT's post) AND a keyed switch on the dash that cuts the juice to the red starter button/switch AND kayed door handles.
The dash switch is a simple installation. Napa will sell you a generic ingition switch --- no problem.
I've been told...
I've got 60 watt heating pads under each battery. It keeps them warm and therefore strong. I've also got a float charger that is always plugged in then parked.
With the twin block heaters and oil pan heaters it takes a total of 1925 watts to warm Rosie up and get her started. When the weather...
In August I make a post on this thread declaring that I would soon be using my bobbed deuce as a DD.
Those plans changed when I couldn't get insurance, other than highly restrictive collectors insurance on the deuce. I ran the rack on the insurance search, even considered going straight...
The stock water pump makes a lot of noise and I'm told consumes 13 HP.
I installed a Spal (Google Spal fans) electric fan to replace the stock fan and it made an appreciable difference. The project was covered in one of my posts.
Thanks for the insight everybody.
I removed the winterfront today and everything appears to be working fine.
The temp gauge shows 190 degrees but I guess it could be off by ten degrees.
Without the winter front the electric fan is now able to control the temperature when highway speeds...
My M37 is giving me fits! It's below zero and it's running @ 205 degrees with a 180 degree thermostat.
Last week I replaced the existing thermostat because the engine wouldn't get above 150 degrees. The only thermostat I could find didn't look like the stock M37 thermostat that releases water...
