Took the level wind off my 936A2 rear winch. Took it all apart, let all the bearings sit in degreaser over night. No rust on the bearings but the old grease was like concrete. Put it all back together then used my fork lift to reinstall. Now it runs on the rails like new.

Anybody know what the 5th gear lockin solinoid dose? I found it in the TM but it dose not tell me what it dose. It seems to have a power and ground wire and what I think are air lines. In one side out the other. Still trying to find out why my M936A2 will not shift manual.

That sounds like the way it should work. Whatever gear you put the shifter in it should stay there till you move the shifter to the next gear My car carrier has a Cat 7.2 and Allison trans. If I put the shifter in 1st gear it will not shift out of first even if the engine is redlined.
