    2.5 or 5 ton truck?

I'll try to make this brief. The multifuel engine is designed to run on various fuels as a design feature. This is why it needs stuff like the FDC (fuel density compensator) to run those multiple fuels. It also has relatively loose tolerances to accommodate the differences.. The NHC250 is...

    2.5 or 5 ton truck?

Ease of acquiring parts. I had an M934. It was as simple as pulling up the TM, and calling Cummins with the part numbers and picking them up an hour later. The army and other branches went pretty hardcord on the COTS parts bandwagon (Commercial Off The Shelf) in the 80s and 90s, and tried to...

    2.5 or 5 ton truck?

M939 5 ton has power steering, full air brakes, and a larger cab, and is easier to work on, IMO. However, it doesn't have a multifuel engine, but can run WMO if filtered properly and can run on some (but not much) gas mixed with WMO/Diesel.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

I kept seeing the 'in memorial' on your avatar... I knew you were honoring Ron with him as your pic, but made it look like you were dead as well...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Yes, but how many people dish out the duckets for a quality lock, and instead, go to Home Depot or similar and buy the first Masterlock they see? I was able to rake open one of their disc locks in like 3 seconds... and this was one of their 'top security' $30 locks... Looks beefy, but can be...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Problem is, most puck locks can be unlocked with a raking tool as quick if not quicker than using a key. It's a pretty good visual deterrent though.

A good reminder. Quite a few people don't know that.

WA State Collector Vehicle Plates and Weights?

Sorry I'm late. 1. CDL is only required if over 26K and used in commerce. 2. DOT # is only required if over 26K and used in commerce. 3. Collectors vehicle plates require the vehicle be registered first, which entails paying tonnage, HOWEVER, there's a little known law allowing you to pay...

Saw This on a Diesel Heater Forum

My comment was merely pointing out that he said that heaters are still out there that do both, then linked to one that only did ONE as his cite/proof. We both know they're out there still, just pretty rare, as they were a relatively short-lived phenomenon in the CDH (Chinese Diesel Heater)...

    Shelter mounted on trailer?

They also make/made CBCs (hard tops) for M101, M1101, and M105 trailers... Just to confuse things...

    Shelter mounted on trailer?

Not an S250. There's an S788 and S1497 that are designed to be in the HMMWV. S788 are all over the place. S1497 is a rare beast, from what I've seen.

    A/C? That's not camping, bro.

    Shelter mounted on trailer?

I will also say, that if you're WINTER camping. An S250 is what you want. These have thick insulation and most don't even need a heater as the body warmth is usually enough to keep the inside decently warm. If you're SUMMER camping.. I think a better option would be a topper with a custom...

    Shelter mounted on trailer?

M1101 and shelter is a tried/true combination. M101 is a viable option as well, albeit heavier. It was designed to pull behind the M715. The A2 has the same lug/wheel pattern as the CUCV, and the A3 was designed to tow behind HMMWV so it has completely different setup. It's steel instead...

You fail. That's just a water heater, not an air/water heater.. :p They do make heat exchangers for them, though.. So you could just add what amounts to a radiator and a fan to it.

Saw This on a Diesel Heater Forum

I only saw the knockoff air/water heaters for a very short time, and they were ~$300. That video was from 3 years ago, which is around the time I was seeing a couple. Would be a good option for in-floor heating, IMO.
