Chicago dealer selling cucv's? Anyone dealt with them

Now that's funny dude. Seriously, I just bought a nice M1009 that needs some minor TLC but is overall sound for $1500.00 from an individual on this site. He owned it for several years and I got a good background on what was done to it and what was needed. Sorry but I have never met an honest...

Chicago dealer selling cucv's? Anyone dealt with them

[quote=Sajer;53177} He also claimed he buys them direct from the gov and not the GL? Does that sound right? Is their a smiley figure throwing up a BS flag? just wondering. Pretty sure if your buying surplus it's coming thru GL or if another agency had it first GSA. Someone correct me if I'm...

    Deuce Use?

There is a thread on here about why own a deuce. I would post a link to it but that is beyond my technical capabilities. If you search the deuce forums you will see many uses for these trucks.

    Ever hit a Sub-Compact?

Your uncle was lucky, I treat my deuce like a tractor, I am pretty sure a rollover type accident would not have a good outcome. As long as whatever you hit with it stays on the ground I think you would be good to go, but there just isn't enough metal above the doors to stop anything.

Chicago dealer selling cucv's? Anyone dealt with them

heck your probably better off dealing with GL than a car lot. It's one thing to buy from an individual who has owned it and gone through it, but a car lot has no idea what they have. Just my 2 cents worth.

Deuce not wanting to back up

Is this a problem that could be repaired with the transmission in the truck? Would replacing the cover with a good one fix it? I don't think its the e-brake because mine is pretty weak. It happened doing from 1st to reverse. Mabey this weekend I can pull the plate and take a look. Thanks...

Deuce not wanting to back up

I had a problem this weekend and am looking for some direction on where to go from here, if anywhere. I went to pickup a load of firewood and when I put the truck in reverse it would not back up. The transmission felt fine it was like a set of wheels were locked up. I rolled forward a few...

    surplus Deuces going bye bye

No one here is saying don't help them out. I think people are worried over long term solutions. I am way more worried over the probably billions of dollars that will be pumped into hatti over the next say 5 years. If I though 100 deuce's would fix there problems I would say heck go for it...

    surplus Deuces going bye bye

I think a lot of people are having this fear right now. I don't mind helping out some people in need but that place is nothing but a welfare nation, I don't think our economy could handle it for one, and secondly I don't think most Americans would go for it. At least this one won't.

    M35A2s in Louisiana

For what it's worth my deuce winch cable looked like a ball of rust but the rest of the truck was rust free. and you would be amazed how well a winch cable can clean up.

I think that was done in middlesboro, ky back in the 1990's I am pretty sure they do not fly her anymore due to super high insurance costs. popacom, Crofton is in SW Kentucky About 20 miles north of the Tn state line as the crow flies, I would think you should have plenty of fellow MV...

Classifieds suggestion - REQUIRE vehicle titles

I am with greenjeepster on this one. I think most sellers who have a title point it out anyway as it is in there best interest to.

scored a pair of H-45 heaters yesterday

so a friend of mine was cleaning out some storage space at his unit and came up on a bunchl of these H-45 multi-fuel heaters, that were not on the books. After a short conversation with his boss they were split up among the men and two ended up on my door step. They seem pretty neat and look...

    some winch questions

I got to finally use my winch truck this weekend for it's intended purchase, pulling a stuck tractor out of a hole. I have a couple of questions for you winch experts out there. 1st what is the safest way to get the cable to wind back up nice and pretty. 2nd what do you use to do your six...
