Case in point Air Bags, EPA and emission certification, technically if a vehicle is rebuilt in 2010, it must meet requirements for that year. That is why 5t or M998 that goes throw the reset programs are still listed for year built, not year reset was performed.

The Designation of Off road use only for the Humvee was a political decision by DLA. If you noticed the Marine Corps HUMVEEs don't have that designation. To insure vehicle couldn't be transferred under various program to local agencies and Museums. That being said. The big issue is lack of...
I agree 2 thirds of the HUMVEEs sold needed to be fixed in order for them to be road worthy, as with the 5ts, CUCVs. If the vehicles were required to be brought up to current standards it would become cost prohibited.

Of with the old and replaced with new. Old one was shot. At the same time increased the width of the reinforced roof.

Fan will kick in at 220. Mine usually kicks in at about 215. But yes my experience is mil gauges are not always accurate.

If you read there ad. There are two versions. Stock and competition in which they cut down the weight of the PVC inserts. I figure there has to be some holes. How else you would air up the tires. The larger holes is probly how the reduce the weight. I would call and ask.

All Beadlock rims are 2 piece. It's just the design of the mil rims that are different from most civilian off road beadlock rims. That is why the H1 and the HUMVEE rims are DOT compliant.

Also do not mix D and E rated tires or rims. The Mil 12 and 24 bolt are D rated. The double 24 bolt rims are E rated and are heavier. If your not sure the are stamped E or D. You can run E rated tires on the D rated rims. Air pressure unless you are driving a fully Uparmored M1151 there is no...
Both the civilian and the Mil Humvee rims are DOT compliant. The original 8 bolts were not. 12 and 24 bolt mil rims have a DOT stamp on them. The Humvee rims are the only 2 piece rims that street legal.

Having driven the M998 and it's variants over the years with the military and changed tires to boot. Kinda makes me an expert. Of course if you are using single piece rims, you don't need the PVC or runflat inserts. Dosent take a rocket scientist to figure that out. But if your using 2 piece...
I did not see anybody suggesting alternative means to get on road titles and registrations. What I do see are still some inconsistencies in various states. I can tell you Florida has gotten easier. As long as you are following the law there should be no issues on getting tags and title. Florida...
There is one more way to check the Thermostatic switch. Pull it out and clean it up.. reinstall it.then see if it opens.

I knew how to check the 12338599 Switch, Thermostatic Fan. But the realty was just easier to replace due to cost. I am curious what the TCM(Transmission Control Module) has to do with this. There is also a part number 12338603 Module, Time Delay, Hydraulic Cooling Fan, that connects to the...
Front tire wear wasn't bad. Just ran at 35psi. Back tread were in the middle even at 35. But then again most of the time bed was empty. Being it was a 1028 it rode higher anyways.
