Something else is missing in your filter cannister. I've installed literally 20 or more of the baldwin filters into M35A2s and all filters work perfectly. Do you have any pictures of your so we can determine what's wrong?
That is what I was refering to also. They used to be $200 for oil, $200 for secondary and final, and $100 for primary. That =$500. I see they have come down some, but still too pricy for my fleet. But as I stated before, they are nice to have and many members may decide to use them to make...
I also rebuild deuces for commercial use and private use (on a part time basis) and offer a one year warrenty on my trucks excluding the drivetrain(because U-tube is full of car crushing, tree smashing, extreme mudding of deuces that abuses them beyond what they are designed for). SD is aways...
That's what keeps me away. It costs almost $500 to do an entire truck with spin ons and I own way too many deuces to do the conversion. If you only have one truck and that's your baby, then it's a lot easier to justify. Spin ons are nice, but they do leak also from time to time. Just the...
Thanks for the kind words guys. Doghead, i'm not 100% on the micron rating, but as a full time NG mechanic for the SDNG, we frequently use baldwin filters(what I sell) and we used my same filters on our deuces. If they are interchangable with other mfgs through the system, than they have to...
Just finished building a deuce for a powerline company and they put the 395s on it with the custom hemtt rims. Looks really cool, but the truck is now doggy as heck. I couldn't hardly get out of 4th gear driving around where I live. I wasn't impressed. Bigger tires=a lot more mass to try and...
I'm going to be doing the same thing with my M75, so i'm also watching closely. I do have a wrecker so that will help with the engine removal. I'm planning on stripping the entire APC down to the bare hull and restoring it from there. Needless to say it will be a few years before it would be...
PM sent. I just finished a custom truck for a gentleman and we basically rebuilt most of the truck and it was around $10,000 with some added features like a microlock brake system, and larger super singles. I have a couple of NG technicans that work part time with me working on deuces for people.
Sounds like your RPM are still too high. I have this problem with all M809s that I drive. The motor dang near has to be to idle before you can downshift or else grinding will occur. It shifts a lot different than a deuce.
I think it would be alright at only 11 miles, there should be enough gear oil to keep everything lubricated enough. If your having doubts though, just pull them to be safe. I would just hook on and go for only that short a distance.
Gene,
I don't know why all of you guys have to be west river, lol. I'm one of the few East river down in Scotland. Found out about 2 guys up in Brookings who are into MVs. I really would love to do a SS meet in SD or somewhere around, but we seem so spread out.
We love the hawkers in the NG and that is all we put in our trucks now. They do fail, but they seem to outperform the 6tls. They are also a lead acid battery but are a sealed unit with anti-glass material AGM that will self seal if the battery is punctured.
Same here, I'm a full time Technician for the SD National Guard and my door is always open to people needing help. I would rather a dumb question get asked before someone wrecks a truck or gets killed. But like Westfolk is trying to get at: please read your operators manual first before...
