That is called a level winder and its purpose is to help try and wind the drum in a neat mannor and keep the wire rope from crossing over itself and getting into a tangled mess. Winch trucks without that often will only wind(when winching) on one side which is responsible for the top plates on...
I'm also looking for parts, but mainly the 2 rear troop hatches and 2 floor plates. Tried SECO, but Roy has been busy and hasn't got back to me yet on it. Anybody have some other sources besides SECO? Thanks.
Having used the M870 to haul D7s in the guard, I agree and love that trailer. I've hauled many loads with it and as long as you have the winch, it is a very simple and reliable trailer to use. I've hauled everything from D7s to 4 M105 trailers at a time and loved it.
I put some grease on the inside of the hose, just enough to help lubricate it. Usually that trick helps it slide much easier. As the others said, it is a pain in the you know what, but just keep wiggling it and it will go on.
The ones I have seen on the A2s just bolt on to the glovebox bracket and they torched a hole through the firewall for the heater hoses. As far as noise, you probably won't hear the heater over the motor, lol. They aren't too loud and if they are, they need some lubrication.
I know what you mean. I have 8 foot snow drifts all around my building which pretty much reverses my idea of putting the wrecker in the shed so it wouldn't be buried in the snow if I needed it. I need an M29 weasel !!!!
Couldn't agree more with you. He definately is missed here and it is hard to believe that David is gone. Makes you really appreciate what you really have during the holidays.
I just got one also, so let us know what you find for parts. I'm missing the top troop hatches also and would like to find a set before I have to fab them.
LOL, I have a much easier fix than that. I just spent last week fixing this problem on 7 of the SDNGs trailers for one of our units. Just get a piece of 1/4 sheet metal and cut out a rectangle that will fit between the weld on the lunette mount and the collar of the trailer tongue. What we...
Only 75 on the freeway????? A. why do you need to go faster than that? B. When do you plan on replacing the engine after you blow it up? They just weren't intended to operate like SUVs, they will go though almost anything, but if you want that type of speed, you need to buy a civilian model...
Does anybody have some good leads on M75 parts? I know SECO has some, but does anybody know of anyone else? I need to find some parts for my M75 that I just bought.
