Picked up 916a1 today. Pretripped it, jump started it with slave cable and drove it home. Nice clean truck 43000 miles. pics will be posted when it stops raining so I can get a few good ones.
Say truck did not have water on board looks like no tank mounted yet. Sharp curve in road and rolled sounds like to fast and not use to unit. These truck make very safe wildfire engines when set up right and not over loaded. Just my two cents
Having worked for a fuel transport company I would say that fuel in North East is not yet blended with Kero. or #1 ULSK(ultra low sulfur Kero) In jan and feb in our area some suppliers will mix as much as 75% ULSK with ULSD for fleet use. our fire dept runs 50/50 with power service additive for...
There is always some restriction with elbows but no big deal here. I would want the outlet more than a foot outside door so gases stay outside. The bigger problem will be that you should use flex pipe to stop vibration and it would need to be supported. you can pipe the 2 outlets together and...
I just got a 916a1 will be picking it up next week. hoping its as good as it looks in pic. I will be looking for a new fifthwheel for it I think. I will post picks when I pick it up.
Is the system all there? alot of these have been disconnected. Are the tires holding air or flat. If it works when turned on you should see it inflating tires or alarm should come on for flat tire or emergency. When and I seid WHEN they work they work good when they don't they suck. Good Luck
Heating oil and red off road fuel are not excactly the same heating oil has no additives in it. and has little to no lubrication for your injector pump. And as already said up here its is a 100 dollar per gallon fine to have it in your onroad tank, unless you are tax exempt (like a town or...
Nice to see another unit close. Any thing I can help you with i will. Peter's numbers on filters are good. Keep your old gaskets from your oil filter some times the new ones are to thin. Carquest lists the wrong air filter on ther web site so check it before you take it. Ken
Heating oil will gel and will need to be treated. Should be treated with a good additive as it doesn't have any of the additives that Diesel has( I treat all my diesel with power service). I run 15/ 40 in all my Diesels air and water cooled (heat if extremely cold). My MEPS 004,005,006 and...
As I said anytime I can help a member its good. Its always good the see more green iron running again. Glad it ran so good when it started, Be safe and get me that list of parts so I can pull them from the donor MEPs Ken
As per 702.5(B)(2) The inspector is correct with an ATS everything must be automatic. The Manual switch is your best bet and then you can pick the load
That is a 24 volt circuit. the truck starts on 24 volt and has a few 24 volt circuits. if your adding a 12 inverter you will need to add a heavy wire from the 12 volt supply under the hood or get a 24 volt inverter.
I will have to look at the socket tommorrow but I use a 4 ft bar under the tire to slide it off. by change tire are you mounting the spare or are you going to dismount the tire. If you have never dismounted one of these you are in for a chore. Is the CTIS still on the tire.
We used a 24 volt pump from the fuel transfer set up (you know the one that goes with the 600 gal tanks that has 2 reels and a pump in the middle and reduced it down to 1") Also you could mount almost any portable pump on top or under the truck. Truck in my Avatar has A 250 gpm hale pump...
