Yup, pry the top down at points about 10 inches in from each side. Get a screwdriver stuck all the way in to the back plate so you dont rip the canvas.
Took me a few WTFs to figure it out:oops:
I've been reading all the pre luber threads on here since before I won my deuce.
Made a unit from a stripped-down fuel transfer pump first. It worked, but would not have enough torque to handle cold oil in the winter without a reduction drive.
Just about said screw it & was going to set up...
Household appliances can be useful for many non-traditional needs :-D
I've used the oven & freezer for shrink fitting parts I machined & curing gun-kote finishes ( very stinky ), and have tried the dishwasher on oily Garand stocks before I knew it was bad for the wood. Even did some stove-top...
So I had this black crap on my passenger seat back. I power washed the canvas with hot water & it looked real good & didn't affect the old material at all.
I thought maybe a run through the washing machine would make it even cleaner so in it went. 20 min. later, opened the lid & found a pile...

You lucky dog! I'll be a month tomorrow & still dont have it.
Remember, its about $100 cheaper at the courthouse registering at 10 tons instead of 12 :-D
My building has always been reserved for my machine shop, tractors & smaller toys and Ive never thought twice about keeping my vehicles outside in the weather. So why do I now cringe at the thought of my poor new deuce sitting out in the rain:roll:
We got about 5 inches of rain this weekend &...
I like the stock box & batteries just as much as the next guy, but too much $$ for 6TL's.
I just took out my box & bolted in a 1/4 inch floor for some group 31 stud-tops, don't need the post adaptors now. The plastic tray is from a 9510 John Deere combine, the floor was a grill from a John...
