    No Garage, Need Insurance

Yes, I love the rates too. I've had State Farm for 25 years & have several vehicle policies, plus homeowners & never had a claim. Makes for a great rate:-D

    No Garage, Need Insurance

I'll make sure. It would be reassuring to have something in print.

    No Garage, Need Insurance

I got a quote from State Farm before I even bid on my Deuce on GL. Antique, liability only... about $7/month with my multiple policy discounts. Had to send a picture in then & today, after 3 weeks, the underwriter has asked for more pictures. They wanted interior & engine pictures:roll: I asked...

    Head board crane

You could use a hydraulic cylinder for rotation also by running a loop of roller chain between an idler sprocket & a sprocket on the hoist shaft. Then fix the cylinder rod to a point on the chain. This will give you as much rotation as want to build into it. I built a 1 ton telescoping boom...

    Driving test.....in the Deuce

Register at 10 tons instead of 12, it will be about $205 then:-D most of us wont be hauling full gross rating with an antique anyway. With that, fees & taxes I'll spend about $400 when the day comes.

    Driving test.....in the Deuce

I called ahead to the license station to make sure it was OK & they said no problem. When I got there, they passed it around among 3 of them & all agreed it was fine. They even went by the received date instead of the auction end date, which would have been more than 30 days. Too bad they...

    Driving test.....in the Deuce

GL. Hopefully have a title in a week or so. I just carry my invoice with recieved on date at the bottom so I can drive it 30 days without plates-they were fine with that at the license station. I picked mine up a day or two before you at Camp Dodge.

    Driving test.....in the Deuce

They told me as long as the truck had all the stuff it came with in working order you'r good to go for the test, but no it would not pass a commercial truck inspection as-is.

Multifuel gauge positions always the same?

Top left is where the TM shows it, just like your picture. Mine are like this now & much easier to look at without the two pressure gauges next to each other.

    Driving test.....in the Deuce

If I would have done the walkaround check I could have got a CDL-B, but I didnt want to chance a failure for a license upgrade that wouldn't do me any good. I stuck with the chauffeurs D-2 for simplicity. No air brake endorsement required under 26000 Lbs here. Believe it or not the manual does...

    Driving test.....in the Deuce

Well, I took the driving test today & passed easily. I got the woman everyone said was mean and she was really nice & all smiles as she climbed in. I asked her if she had ever given a test in any MV & she said this was a first, I think she's been there over 25 years. She was commenting on my...

Multifuel gauge positions always the same?

That's exactly how mine was right down to the labels ( mine were on the bezels). Was yours through Toole too? I wonder if they were doing it.

Multifuel gauge positions always the same?

Of the ones I previewed at Camp Dodge, I didnt pay much attention to all the locations, but I do seem to remember several with oil pressure in the bottom row there. The reason I looked into the TM for locations was because I found having my air & oil right next to each other seemed stupid...

Multifuel gauge positions always the same?

Were the multifuel gauges always located in the positions the TM shows? Mine were different, switched 4 of them around today but it got me wondering how the Army mechanics could get this wrong if all deuces were the same throughout the years. I suppose some of them are lucky just to get the...

    Help out a new guy!

I pushed my roof back up with a little leg power, its too stretched out though & just pops back down when I hit rough roads . It needs a couple new braces to keep it up.

    Driving test.....in the Deuce

Since 1990 they have gone by GVWR, not curb weight for DL requirements, and its considered 23500# GVWR no matter what tonnage I license it for. I got a confirmation email from DOT yesterday about the text from the above post about "occasional operator" exemption. They said it does not apply to...

    Driving test.....in the Deuce

I just sent a reply to DOT & pasted that section from page 64 of the drivers manual ( page 66 online , page 64 on paper version) to see what response I get. It would be nice to get out of it, no sense having a more expensive license if I dont need it. I too have a copy of that in my truck...

    Driving test.....in the Deuce

They said a CDL-B is the exact same test & cost except for chauffeurs D-2 there is no walk around safety test. dont really need CDL-B , and I dont want a CDL-A, I would get stuck trucking tractors all over for work then which I dont want. I just like wrenching.

    Driving test.....in the Deuce

I agree. I got varied answers at a local level so I contacted DOT directly. Told them it was an antique vehicle, strictly for recreational use in parades, etc. They said chauffeurs D-2 required.
