Ok - How about this one: 38 1146 on the left side; FSB in the center; C5 on the rear. I've got the Forward Support Battalion, C Co, Truck 5 part figured out, but what is the "38 1146"?
I bought the ISSPRO R3607TR pyrometer and then got the 24V parts directly from ISSPRO. The 24V bulbs were $1.42 each, the Zener diode was $7.50, plus $3.15 shipping for the lot. If you call the ISSPRO tech support number you can order the parts from them.
I went with the electrical gauge...
Bleed the wheel cylinder furthest from the master cylinder first, then the next furthest, and so on.
Here is a link to a posting on how to build a power brake bleeder:

If you do a search for"brake and bleeder" (without...
Here is another thread giving a little more detail on the fix to the outside door handle not working problem. I did the repair as 67beast described and it has been working fine for over a year now.

I posted Dmetalmiki's pics of his engine prelubricator in a new thread, "Engine Prelubricator"

Engine Prelubricator
Following are some pics Dmetalmiki sent me of the engine prelubricator which came installed on his M62 wrecker. He has a problem posting pics so he sent them to me to post for him. It was first mentioned in the "Check Valve for Oil Filters?" thread in the mods/hot rodding...
Most any auto parts store has or can order them. What is a 4" O.D. x 4" I.D. elbow, usually used for HD truck exhaust work, also works to convert your air inlet from horizontal to vertical.
Welcome aboard! Glad you chose to join us. How about some pics of the truck and the shovel? As a former ARNG Corps of Engineers Platoon Leader, I'm always interested in Engineer equipment.
Here is the link to info on to to post pics. Note they cannot exceed 640x480 pixels in size. There is...
Re: Any problem with...
I'm with JT and Clinto on this one. I have to slip my clutch too much for comfort to start my Deuce out in second. But I've also done what m35a2cowner suggests and it works out real well for city driving. Shift pattern then is 2L-3L-4L-5L-4H-5H. You just upgraded to a...
Marcus is correct. Match the battery pair capacities as close as you can. Mismatching batteries - for example a new, strong 6TL with an old, tired 6TL - will shorten the life of both batteries. The stronger battery will act as a "sink" and try to pull more charging current than the weak battery...
Here is a (not so great) picture of a "C" turbo inlet. Wish I still had one off an engine to take a picture at an angle instead of straight on, the detail of the "D" turbo inlet is much clearer than my pic.
They look petty similar, except if I counted correctly the "C" has six vanes and the "D"...
RE: Re: RE: Thanks for info on the turbo
Jwaller - how did you come up with the 1600F EGT? "Conventional Wisdom" generally suggests limiting pre turbo EGT to below 1250F. Are the military turbine wheels made from some special material to withstand 1600F? And how DO you get 18 PSI out of a stock...
RE: Thanks for info on the turbo
FreightTrain got it right on the "C" vs "D" power/turbo lag issues. My "C" Turbo maxes out at 8 PSI but I am a little conservative on the fuel adjustment. I actually cranked the adjustment down a bit from my previous high setting, gave up a little bit of power...
I have "Antique/Classic Vehicle" coverage through State Farm. The cost is $170 (cheap, auto insurance in Michigan is very expensive). No garage, agreed cash value of my truck $6,000, coverages include $100K/$300K Liability, $100K Property Damage, PIP, Property protection, Comprehensive AND...
Is there a TM or other reference out there with instructions for disassembly, inspection, replacement of damaged/worn parts and reassembly of a "C" or "D" turbo?
Check the TM section for TM 9-2320-361-20 pages 8-26 through 8-29 and TM 9-2320-209-30-3-2 pages 13-78 through 13-86. Between the two manuals you should be able to figure it out OK.
I'm with you on the JT spin on mod. I'm a bit surprised he went with the 7/8"-16 thread size as the stock filter tubes are 1"-16 thread. I've contacted John and he says he has some flexibility in the filter thread size, so there is the possibility of using a more modern filter. Baldwin has a...
