I have some parts that I can bring with me to the show listed in the classifieds, let me know if your want them to take the free ride to Sussex:
a 20,000 lbs complete Winch set up for the M series 5ton
electric A3 wiper motor
5 ton rear facing PTO section (makes to possible to run the military...
This situation is a perfect example of "that systems should be looked at as a whole" I think my weak batteries over worked my weak alternator, which burnt out which may have fried more electronics. I am starting from scratch to make sure this doesn't happen again. First I will put in 4 tested...
My alternator went bad and I fear it took other electronics with it. I have a new alternator on order and I am rebuilding my PCB with the help of my buddy Martin. We are trying to develop a way of protecting the box too. I will let you know what happens.
Spoke to the sales rep. For the company that makes the alternators for our military. He said that one of those 400amp units takes 30hp to run it! He also said the 60 amp units are rated a constant duty, so a 60 amp alternator will at least put out 60 amps!
I am planning on buying plenty of surplus parts for customers trucks and for mine.
Anyone have some door armor for a 5 ton or ballistic windshields? HEMMT battery boxes?
did I see that you are going to need some kind of lift blocks on the rear? You may need to use some kind of trail arm if the blocks get to big? I am sure phil has already got something planned!
There is a convoy coming in from Ma. and Conn.! Everyone I have talked to says the Sussex has become the top show on the East coast! I am bringing lots of goodies down with me for fellow SS.
I have found two MV in Michigan I would like to buy. They are not running but they roll. I am looking for someone to flatbed them from Michigan to Ma. I need to find a transport before I buy them, so please contact me ASAP.
Extra light comes in handy when backing up at night. I am not sure I would want the to come on every time. I know I had to reposition my truck at the Weare Rally and I think people would not have been to happy with flood lights in their tents. A switch in the cab maybe a good idea?
Thank you guys for the input. I have fully research this here on SS using the search feature and on the Web. I have been working on anything thing with wheels since I could hold a wrench. I was just trying think outside the box! It is a good point about the runaway engine! It looks like the 290...
I think the 290 is plenty. That is why I bought a M923. Because it has a tilt nose, more clearance above the engine, more clearance above the transmission and the transfer case is further back. All these things make putting in a engine much easier!
