I will get a pic, the wires are all tagged, I just don't have enough of them. I am guessing I am missing this?
5 Wire Instrument Cluster Harness, 8376502
If I am supposed to have that... It is missing.
Thanks for the link emmando
I poked around today trying to get the gauges all hooked back up, I am missing part of the wire harness or something. I got the voltage meter hooked up and the dash lights, but that is it. I don't have enough connections to connect the fuel, oil, and temp gauges...
The instruction plate on the flame heater says not to use it above 20 deg F. That is probably where the 20 deg number morphed over from on the either injection system.
He got the goggles for Christmas, they are from the Pixar movie Prep and Landing. He loves those things. Dieselbob; you can get a set at the Disney store.
I got my new truck home today. I won it from GL at fort Jackson and had it trucked to NJ, then went down and drove it up the last 85 miles home. She fired right up with two new batteries, and ran great all the way home, even hit 62 mph a few times according to the GPS.
So overall a good truck...
No; you would just have to shim out the valve from the mounting bracket somehow, maybe washers would do it. Then put a larger strap on.
Thanks for the link... The lack of an nsn number probably indicates that it was an aftermarket system, not under military contract.
I have never seen one on a deuce that wasn't made by Kats. You would be able to hear it actuate even if the bottle is empty. It makes a click sound when you flip the switch, if it is too warm it doesn't make any sound when the switch is flipped.
I don't want a flame heater, I want the ether...
My system was on the truck when I got it from the KY National Guard I know for a fact that it worked above 20 because I used it above 20 deg.
If you click the haldex link I posted it will download the specs and it states 50 deg. Nothing I can find on kats site states anything but 50 deg, so...
Call UTI Transport. they are a Broker and just got my deuce moved 800 miles for 1.25 a mile.

The lowest quote I got from anybody else was almost double and I called several companies directly.
You need the tall skinny bottle (18 oz.) The fat squat one (21 oz) does not work. The 24 volt systems thermo is set to 50 deg, not 20.

This is the video of mine on my old truck:
The bottle is the same as a propane torch bottle or mapp bottle. Only it has ether in it.
I have tried a propane bottle, it will not start on propane
