I had to check my last invoice on GL. That was my m817 bought in June last year. It is very clear on there the Ga. state tax I paid. Mn. recognizes that and I had no prob with that here. I cant see what they are talking about. What more could they want?
Certainly looks like you are getting well prepared. I wouldn't worry about the coolant issue myself. I would get the pure green stuff and cut it with distilled water that I buy down there. First off green stuff came out , secondly I have yet to have green anti-freeze blended at around 40 or 45...
paufarber,
If all it needs is a gasket, Bobs answer is hard to beat. On my 5 ton there is 2 tanks with a cap each. A new gasket made one like new and the other was still loose. Seems there is like a brass spring washer behind the gasket. If that is collapsed, the new gasket still wont snug up...
I use about a 1/2 ATF AND 1/2 Gunk Power Steering Fluid blend in most anything I got . Havent gotten to changing the M817 ps fluid yet but thats what it will get. The Gunk stuff says it conditions seals and quiets the system. It isnt much more expensive then the ATF so WTF ya know? For cars with...
I agree with you emr that the deuce brakes do the job well and don't require modification. Just good maintenance is the best time and money to put into them. The duel circuit deuce that was mentioned just caught my eye and I wanted to know more about it. I have to throw this in though. Last year...
When I pull on the lever at the pump to shut it off, it goes automatically back in. The lock is in the handle itself. (Correct me if I am wrong)
That sounds likely and it sure does increase the likleyhood of it being diesel in the cyl. causing the hydraulicing condition.
Didnt mean to hijack the thread, But I sure would like to know if there is issues with the 53" tires on combat wheels. Does anybody run this combination on there 5 ton? Do you ever have rubbing problems?
LOL, good job, good job! That is a good point about uncovering the "dry cranking" procedure. Would a guy pull his head and investigate if it didnt crank over easy the first time anyway? I will be the first to admit that I would prob. put the charger on it and give it a whirl later.
Good theories to look at. Also a possible leaky head gasket that let coolant in a cyl. It would all look like black crappy oil coming out the pipe in a diesel
With the fuel shutoff manually pulled, how would the fuel get by that? Even if the in tank pump ran for hours? I think you guys are onto something but until the parts can be examined a 100% accurate diagnosis probably wont be made. Just theories.2cents
Yeah that sure isnt what you would expect to happen esp if it was a great runner up to that point. How far are you going to tear down your replacement motor? This has probably been covered in other threads before, but maybe it would be a good idea to replace the rod bolts with new ones. I am...
Sounds like an awesome truck Joseph. The seafoam trick might just do it as I know that stuff really has a devoted following. Did the fuel smell pretty nasty that it had in it at first? Sounds to me you are on the right track to getting it straightened out.
It's good to see that this got cleared up. I knew it had a widening strip down the middle but was unaware of the lengthening that was done also. Good luck on the mods JG to fit your A3 to your truck.
