Hey Rex, welcome to the site and the MV hobby as well. Deuces are just cool. Every household needs one. Both Andy and Scott are great sources to find one. Minnesota and surrounding states MV owners have been talking about getting together for awhile. I hope this summer something can be put...
Looking at my own picks on the other link and refreshing my memory, I would highly recommend sticking with M070028. Size constraints would very likely be a problem with the muffler you listed. I personally believe that the M070028 has ample flow and you will be happy with it.
I think your biggest problem with that muffler would be the 2" bigger diameter. Already @ 7" the Donaldson M070028 required a slight mirror bracket mod for me. (see post #25 on attached link) http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/54990-muffler-installation-db-comparison-3.html I imagine it could be...
Glad to hear that you were able to think fast and handle the situation. Sounds scary. Good thing you were close to home so you could limp the truck home and get some clean underwear  lol. kidding. Those are the kind of stories that are good to share so when people are inspecting the...
Here is a link to an interview done with Rick Harrison by entertainment weekly back in June '10. 'Pawn Stars': Rick Harrison talks about cable's most unlikely hit! | PopWatch | EW.com After reading it, you would have to believe the shop is real, ect. but I am sure they spike it with better...
I am leaning towards "The Major" for this dump truck. Short for Major Pita , Major Moneypit, Major Headache, you name it. Soon to be Major Bad*ss (It has been providing me with a Major education on the M809 series truck) Priceless...
Hey All, Just dropping a quick note to say that the parts are really rolling in now and progress should soon follow. Pics will accompany those updates as well. I want to say that this truck will be running within a week from today, but there are no guarantees on that expressed or implied.
I...
The next thing you know, someone will say that the zombie apocalypse is all just fake and will never really happen. Then all of this prep work we have been doing would be in vain:shock:
You mean torque method on the injectors
right on[thumbzup]
thanks mckeeranger and willwagner for those answers. I have to go along with the "wear compensation" answer. I went on to read the section of the TM "injector and valve adjusting torque method" and they adjust the x-head there without...
I think a better question would be how step 5, adjusting the gap using a dial indicator, is still accurate if step 6 is making an adjustment to the same gap (if necessary) with a feeler gauge?
That indeed could be a great question but I havent stumbled upon it yet, as I am awating many...
Reviving a thread here. I couldnt have entitled one much better. XM817/NHC250 Valve adjustment . OK here goes. First off I know how to read the TM. The problem is there is a difference between how the TM tells you to set the crossheads and how a lifelong Cummins mechanic that I know has always...
Whats leaking? I agree with the posters who say if it isnt covered under a warranty, its your stuff to fix. A wise man once told me something about my M817 which currently has a project thread going. He said "It looks to me like you were looking for a hobby---and you found one" :) Those repairs...
I hauled one to the buyers place, but I admit it was more to close the deal and less because I was worried about his driving skills. This guy was fully capable anyway and I could tell that by our phone conversation. If a 16 year old came over with a carload of drunken buddies and had the cash to...
