    freewheel axle flanges

You are right, there is no need for any hard steel or bronze bushing in the desplined cap. I have machined the splines from the M35 drive caps and i can tell you they are still harden steel there with the splines gone.

So far it has been "in the shop only" , machine the new seal surface. I can make it into a kit with no machine work.

What do I need for a rear axle seal replacement?

Oil bath bearings last up to 5 times longer than grease pack, just through that flat outer seal away and let the bearings run in oil with a premium hub seal.

    Bobbing my M35A3

I had collected all of the axles and lockers. There are no 1 3/4" axles for the front aftermarket. I have no interest in Ouverson eng. products.

    Bobbing my M35A3

I need an update, installed V100 axles ( 1 3/4" x 19 spline ) and DT. locker in the rear. Built a complete new front with seals and bearings and V100 axles and DT. locker 1 3/4" x 19 spline. Large disc brakes and warn locking hubs.

What do I need for a rear axle seal replacement?

Gear oil in the wheel bearings means the outer ( flat seal ) seal has failed, if it is the seal or in the keyway slot. The inner hub seal is not designed to keep the oil in the hub but to keep the environment out, that is why it will leak.

    5 ton lockout hubs

Yes, locking hubs will only work on trucks with air shift transfer case.
