Question is: does this need lubrication? If so, with what? I ask because while towing today, doing slow turns, it sounded like it was binding up. Everything looks good. The only fix I can think of is to throw some grease on it, but what?

Well, the plan was just to replace the rope with the super rope and use it like the old rope. Loop it in the eyes and then, because it doesn't tie like the old rope, I was going to get hooks, like bungie cords... I'm not sure looping it through the eyes and then tying down will work right for me...

Um, the trailer lights are because you most likely don't have a 24v system. And you need lights to tow, day or night. The only other option is to sit there and rewire the connector to work, which includes bring 12v bulbs with you to swap out. The temp lights mean you can do that at home, not...
