Ike, thanks for that info.. The electrician who did my setup was in a big hurry and I think he didn't pay attention to the fact that I had it hooked up to a ground rod. I also think he was new..
It all makes complete sense. These were designed to be used in the field where the generator was...
#1 - Have an electrician install a disconnect switch and power inlet box & cable.
#2 - Have everything correctly grounded. Use a grounding rod at the generator.
The voltage adjustment knob to the far right is to fine tune the voltage.
Put a volt meter on the 110 outlet and you can fine tune...
I haven't worked on one of these but it would make sense to me that there is a failsafe that is tripping such as a low oil or hot temp sensor that is causing it to quit. Beyond just checking the manual you might try bypassing sensors until you find the one or more that could be causing the...
We have fire!
Looks like my problem was electrical.
The solder connection to the coil on the negative side was weak. I fixed it.
I also cleaned the fuel off the solenoid that I think may have caused it to not be grounded correctly.
Thanks,
Andy...
I installed a NOS heater in July. At first I had problems but after bleading the fuel line and cleaning the fuel meter/solenoid it started to work.
It now refuses to fire. I cleaned it again but still no fire.
One thing I can tell it that the fuel solenoid is not clicking as it should...
OK, Bring on the ice storms, I’m ready..
Here is the end result.
I would like to change out the straps to something else but this will work for now.
With the QD I can switch from the on-board auxiliary tank to a 55 Gal drum easy...
My next step is to get a fuel gauge working..
Andy...
If you have a MEP look close, you may already have one.
The adapter is stored just above the fuel filters and the pickup tube is with the grounding rod..
Andy..
Has anyone used anything like this to mount a MEP in a trailer?
My MEP-002 shakes the hell out of my 101a2.
The trailer also creates much of the noise.
Thanks,
Andy.
We have several 105's. Some have covers that fit very well and others that came with covers that look a bit too big and the tie down ropes don’t line up quite right...
Anyone else have this problem..?
Thanks,
Andy.
