I've read that CARC is not supposed to be applied to parts that get hot so what did the military do and what can I do to paint my exhaust stack with a green that will last?
Is there a high heat product that works and matches well enough?
Thanks for the correction! I remember my college roommate flooding the kitchen with foam by using the wrong stuff. It puts on quite a show - a show I would like to avoid
Well this isn't my truck but it looks like the entire dash is a custom setup so it must be like a generic key switch. Those Military Guys have keyed switches that hook right up to our harnesses. Another outfit has keys that look like the standard switch levers.
Still not sure, but my drivers seat and empty fire extinguisher bracket on the tranny tunnel make that kind of noise.
The truck in this video has several slaps and clunks that sound like the noises inside my cab.
Are the tranny tunnel bolts all tight? Does the noise only happen when hitting...
The jeepers see you roll up behind them at the light and in their rear view your front bumper is staring them in the face as your 5 ton oozes with brute strength. Then they realize your winch cable is bigger around than their rear axle shaft. They add flexy suspension and remote reservoir...
To make the front brace that ties the frame to the fender you need a piece of 1 1/4" O.D. x .109" wall x 31 1/4" long steel tubing. Mark two lines 1 1/2" in from each end, then flatten that 1 1/2" of one end in a press. Flip the tube around so that the freshly flattened end is on your end and...

The previous owner did not get a title for the truck when he bought it and had to apply for a lost title, wait three years, and then get a new one created so that's where the year could have gotten changed. It may have been unknown to everyone downstream of it getting surplussed out.
Well I just perused Carnac's historical VIN thread and found my truck listed as a 1981 year of manufacture so maybe it is still sporting its original engine or at least its original engines data plates. This is exciting for me because I was hoping to get an '81 truck from the start but could...
Awhile back I tried reinstalling an original that fell out and I inserted one side then tried to pinch it to get the other side inserted and the clip snapped in two. Maybe the original was brittle but maybe I was doing it wrong. Are there any tips or tricks or proper procedure for installing...
