    Post your m37 pictures

Bert, The bracket I have does NOT require new holes. It mounts through existing holes for the transmission cover / floor board panel. I'll get photos for you so you don't have to drill holes or modify your floor panel. Sorry I can't get to it right now. Storm 51

    Post your m37 pictures

I'll be glad to post pics of it. Are you more interested in the bracket or how it mounts to the floor? I think I have an extra bracket laying around here somewhere that I could photograph if that would be more helpful. It might take a little while to get a photo of the inside of the truck, but...

Thanks, Bill. I've had that truck for 32 years. What you are seeing is the second restoration that was just completed (well, sort of, there are just a couple more things I've got to do, then it will be done, really :-D ). Storm 51 :driver:

WW II Command Car Radio Genset

The little WW II generator is probably going to be looking for a new home. I really don't have any use for it. I like to trade way it and the big heavy black one I think for a 100 amp 24-28VDC gas generator that is not quite so heavy and old. The battery charger will probably stay for awhile, at...

WW II Command Car Radio Genset

Well, the black generator is unbelievably heavy. Wish I knew its history. It is STOUT. Storm 51

WW II Command Car Radio Genset

Now that my M-37 / 42 and M101A1 trailer are almost complete I'm starting to look for one. Having a WW II generator is as good as any other excuse for wanting one. :D Storm 51

WW II Command Car Radio Genset

Well, digging through stuff I found two generators and a battery charger. I've posted pics below. The small lightweight generator is a Signal Corp GN-51-B dated 1944. The attached lube order has George Marshall's signature. The little VERY Heavy generator does not have any military markings or...

    rear jerry can mount

There is also something called a "Gypsy Rack" that goes on the tailgate of an M-37 that holds 5 or 6 Jerry cans. I've attached a pretty poor quality picture of one below. The picture was taken in Viet-Nam back in the day..... Storm 51

WW II Command Car Radio Genset

Thanks for the help, NDT! Yes, I believe that is the one. I'll know for sure later today, but that sure looks like it. I also found one other one, but it is heavy! I think the whole thing is made out of cast iron. I'll post pictures of it too. It is a 100amp 24vdc gen set with a meter but it...

WW II Command Car Radio Genset

Hi All, I think I have a small generator that fit in the trunk of the WW II Command Car to run the radios. It is a very small, light weight generator. Does anyone here know what I should look for to identify this gen-set? I will try to take some pics tomorrow when I can get at it to take it...

    Blue Hot Rod M37

Yes, Candy Cream Strata Blue Metallic should be a new, more sensitive, artistically aware military color for Gillespie to stock and catalog. :-D I like it! Storm 51

I agree with you entirely! You guys in the restoration / custom business are in a profession where you have to walk a very fine line. You try to help the customer avoid some very stupid and painful mistakes and you may provoke anger and resentment. If you don't say something you get blamed when...

    M37 question

Here's a copy of the TB 9-2300-248-30 if anybody is interested. It might help someone bidding on a A frame Kit in the future. Storm 51

    M37 question

There is a TB & TO for the correct "A" Frame Kits for the M-37 w/w. The TB is TB 9-2300-248-30 and the TO is TO 36A-1-1082. Those documents have photos of the complete set up. I have one of the complete military kits in my storage unit in the original box. I does not look like any of the photos...

    Grandpa's M37

That is a really great truck! It looks to be very complete and stock. I didn't see much rust or damage to the body which is something to very grateful for. It should make for a pleasant restoration project. I'm sure this site and G741.com would be happy to help you with any problems you have...

Ham Radio Operators / Steel Soldiers

What is a MSC-37 shelter? Is it similar to a S-89? What radios were in the MSC-37 shelter? Do you have any interior photos or and closer photos of the shelter? Storm 51

Yes, it is that Gary Wirth. His restorations have won numerous "Best in Show", etc at various MVPA events. Storm 51
