WOW! Nice job! Did you do all that woodwork (cabinetry)? That thing is absolutely beautiful!
I hope you'll post pics when you've got all the radios in. What doeas the outside look like? Do you have pictures of the whole truck and S-89?
BTW, do you happen to know where anymore S-89's might be...
It's Chris's site. He can sell advertising to whomever he wants. He has stated that MEMBERS will NOT be allowed to engage in political discussion on HIS (this) site.
Big difference between what HE does with his property and what guests do on his property. :deadhorse:
Chris makes the...
I've been going through the PS mags online every morning for the past few months (2 issues a day) copying all the articles and mentions of the M-37 and applicable systems (radios, brakes, cooling systems, electrical systems, winches, stencils, fording, etc). I've got a substantial collection of...
Bingo! This is your answer.
IF you are planning on having any females (of any age) in you truck in the "cooler" weather (they will call it COLD), you will want a heater. They will be MUCH happier, and thus, so will you.
This is a serious consideration. Think well upon your decision; it may...
I have some new control boxes from old M series fuel fired heater kits ( 5 ton and dueces I think). I can take some photos this weekend and post them if you like. I don't know if they are the control boxes you are looking for, but if you are interested I'll post them. I also have some (maybe...
I have absolutely no issue with this. Personally, I think that having business owners (vendors) participate in the site as admin or mods is beneficial to members.
Abuse of the members (spam, distracting and obnoxious ads, pop-ups, etc.) would definitely be out of bounds; but just listing a...
I've had people ask about buying my truck. I've had it for 32 years. My kids have grown up with it. I've restored it twice (pics below). It's got all the accessories (like any Barbie doll) that you can collect over that period of time. It also allowed me access to a piece of property that was...
Thanks, Mark!
I'll email those pictures as soon as I get them. I hope they help.
I have always thought the bumper numbers were the order of march. It is interesting to hear that they are not. It would explain some of the markings that have seemed like anomalies that I've noticed.
I'm sure...
So Mark, do you really have a hard copy of AR 746-2300-1? Man, that would certainly be handy to anyone trying to properly mark military vehicles. The closest I could get to proper trailer marking was a letter in PS Magazine from 1962, Issue # 110 on page 40.
Do you possibly know where I might...
I didn't mean to imply that you weren't taking care but sometimes the safety and liability factors don't get the consideration they deserve. The temptation is always there to let somethging slide just a little bit and it can bite you. I've had a few heart stopping adventures and I don't want any...
Brakes and running gear should be new / rebuilt as new and by the book. I don't mean to be too much of a 'downer' but peoples' lives will depend on the safety of your vehicle; and it will be the lives of strangers if it is on the public roads.
Something to keep in mind............
You're welcome. John fixed my radiator to look like new after my M-37 waterpump fan broke loose on the freeway and just ate the radiator. His prices are fair and reasonable too. Good guy.
He also does air conditioning work.

Here is an excellent shop for dealing with military radiators. I've taken my M-37 radiator to John for rebuilding and repair. He has always done a wonderful job. He's used to non-routine stuff; he rebuilds and restores tractors for fun.
He is a little farther north (Redmond / Kirkland area)...
You are one brave dude to take on that truck! That is way beyond my skill level. The only way I'd be able to do that would just be replacing major body assemblies.
Good Luck and please take lots and lots of photos.

I've got a M101A1 I've fitted out over the years as a recovery trailer. It works pretty well but since it lives inside the garage I'm not too worried about theft.
I put a pioneer tool rack from an M-37 on the tailgate. There are two jerry cans on the front together with the spare tire (all...
My truck is just a little truck (M-42 / M-37) but in the M101A1 trailer that goes with it I have assembled a number of "kits". I have a recovery kit with extra chains, cables, landing mat planks, anchors and large (6'-7') pry bars, jacks, bow saws, come-alongs and snatch blocks (with 1, 2, &...
And he paid some serious money to buy that business. :???: I would think he'd be working it pretty hard with all the demand out there. He was at the last MVPA convention too, taking orders with a big display. I just don't get it.
Oh well, the world is a weird place.
