as3900 is 1", 12 TPI? Good to know. I'll have to see about making an adapter for my faux CREW DUKE antenna.

    Tossing the push button start

Considering I'd be looking at risking having to tear out my steering column, and I wanted switches anyway.....:grd: Speaking from first hand knowledge, a lot of agencies do whatever works to get them back on the road.....Then can't find the time or even care to fix it right because 'it...

Why didn't they just use 24v glow plugs?

    Already push button.

    Tossing the push button start

they probably did that for a reason, just an FYI. I changed mine because my ignition cylinder froze. Easier (and cooler, IMO) to use switches... https://youtu.be/OAm-N_PbREE your starter circuit is on a Pink wire, IIRC

Can you run JP8 in the CUCV M1009 ?

Hahahh... That's one of the things I point out on my truck... 'see the size of the fuel cap? For logistics reasons they can just shove in a larger nozzle, and use JP4, JP8, or whatever they had available'... An exclamation of 'that's awesome, it can run on jet fuel' or some variation thereof...

Why didn't they just use 24v glow plugs?

doesn't it just seem simpler to have 24v glow plugs to meet the NATO 24v starting requirement instead of the problematic resistor setup? or.. was it a cost cutting measure? no 24v plugs at the time? I've already bypassed the resistor and moved supply to 12v..why shouldn't I just get 24v plugs...

    Trans issue (m1010)

So.. O'reilly lied and said the Wix filter had the pickup tube o-ring. It didn't. They say none of them do, and seemed upset with ME that they gave me the wrong info. TM shoots out a GMPart# of 6771005, but no one seems to be able to cross reference that to anything usable... Grrrr

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I chased away a methhead trying to steal my LED fog lights on my M1031... Heard a ratcheting outside, go outside to see $%#^$ with a ratchet unbolting my lights... Had one off, but still connected.... Dude had the $^$# to say 'I wasn't doing anything'.... Ratchet in hand... light hanging by...

I sold the truck, but it's butyl rubber, so, lasts forever... :p.. It also reduced the heat during the summer substantially...

    Another M1010 owner

FYI, as far as noise reduction goes.... I used peal and seal as a base, then added foam and indoor/outdoor carpet.... Cost was around $100 IIRC.... I could talk normally, at 60...

    Trans issue (m1010)

So, the M1010 that I sold my mom has developed a horrendous whine, even at idle... and she says it 'doesn't feel right' when coasting, and it actually died as she was driving it... Like she was giving it gas and it was going nowhere, but it was in drive and the engine didn't race like it was...
