Is the S10 in the "Normal" Position? Its a three position switch. Off is the middle. The engine can NOT turn over. Normal is just what it says. Thats the way it should be. Crank is the down position, (I think) and that should just turn the engine over but NOT let it start.

Did you look at the plug? I mean LOOK. With a light. Look into the pins. Then lay on your back, stick your head inside the set and look at the plug?

You need to consult a professional in your area. Why do you think the army gives you a ground rod and sledge hammer. The set needs to be grounded when you are in the back forty. Bonding the set to the truck or trailer is good, but tires do not a grounding make. You still need to ground the gen set.

Simply unscrew it. Grab it with your hand and unscrew it.

I would suspect a loose J7/P7 or a pin broken or burnt off.

Look for the input, (Male End) canon plug. You may need to take out the 4 mounting screws, but in any case, the part number is on the plug. top or bottom, not sure. Then look it up in the web and see who makes it and then you can get the part number for the female end. If you want to "Hot Wire"...
