What position are the switches on the control panel? Picture.

The jumpers are missing!!!! The switch is a good one, just no jumpers.

Where are you going to get not just the harness, but also the plug side. The MEL for that set is so low, you can not order the parts.

Show us a picture of the switch. There are three different kinds. If the jumpers are missing on the Mark 1 and Mark 2 switches, that could be your problem.

Take the first few wire ties off the P side, of the harness and see if maybe a few wires as bent/broke/ twisted togather. Then look at the pins. See if any are bent. The same with the J side.

Are you sure your batteries are good? When you turn S1 to the start position, the pre-heat draws a LOT of amperage. Do the panel lights come on? If so, turn them on and then try and start the set. Do they dim/go out?
