I have seen guys mount civilian hitches on deuces in the past. The key would be to properly fabricate the mount. The truck should pull the boat without a problem. The bed of a deuce is fairly high...not sure what the crane set up would look like, but I guess its possible. A deuce should do...
Without driving your truck, it is hard for me to say with certainty what it could be. You would think these trucks would have more power, but military trucks are notoriously underpowered, with the exception of a few trucks (Freightliners, for one). I have owned two M936A2s. This would...
MICOCHICO, I can't help you, but I noticed you are from Bridgeton, NJ. Did you know Joe Young? We miss him terribly. Great guy, great friend, great military vehicle resource...gone, but not forgotten.
I suppose it is possible that the shift modulator would prevent the transmission from shifting. In my past experience, problems with the shift modulator only affected when the transmission would shift (it shifted either early or late)...but I suppose it could be that the shift modulator gave...
A good friend on here, HALFTRACK, in LA is in the USMC air wing. Great guy...you should contact him. My nephew flies little birds for the Army...just came back from Afghanistan.
First bit of advice...we are not allowed to reference upcoming auctions, although your post is probably borderline. Probably should have said "Looking for someone to inspect at Sparta, WI. Contact me via PM, please." Second, contact Jeff Laumer at 262-227-2967. Good luck.
It will not be a straight swap. Seeing that you have the MK48, you will have to swap the peripheral stuff off of the existing motor. While I have never done this swap, I believe it would work. However, why would you want it? Just as a spare? I bet you will NEVER have an occasion to use the...
Check the easy stuff first, but it could also mean that your transmission just went. I had a truck that was running and driving fine. Drove it one day and it would not go into reverse. Took it to Allison and they diagnosed it as needing a rebuild. So, I bit the bullet and did it. That was...
Additionally, I have never heard of, nor seen, any M939A2s being used by the USMC. If someone has pictures of them in use, I'd love to see them. The Navy, however, did use the A2s. The Seabees M925A2 that I had did not have lockers, though.
I guess it should not shock me that they will bring the Blazer back since I got an older M105A2 that they shipped back.
Yes, the M917s are the dumps. I am close to acquiring an M917A2 and I'd love to see pics of trucks used in Iraq.
Thanks!
If you ask any guy about their favorite anything, you are going to get a lot of answers. My opinion is you can't go wrong with a brand name filter. I usually trust WIX. I get them either packaged as WIX, NAPA, or CARQUEST. I have used FRAM. I have never noticed any difference and I bet...
Was the trailer like that when you bid on it? If so, why did you bid on it? If it was not like that, why did you accept it? No way you are getting $600 each on the tires/rims if the guy buying them know anything! What did you pay? I hope paid less than $1200. Not trying to rain on your parade...
Show them you are working on. Communicate with them. Once they see you are TRYING, they usually work with you. I just experienced this. The thing you can't do generally is just call up and ask for an extension. Sure, there are site managers that will do this for you, but those are the site...
I had an M35A3 with working CTIS...until it failed after about six months. I recommend using it often (at least monthly) as I have heard that sitting is one of the biggest problems.
