    M818 Won't crank

SHES ALIVE!!!!! I hooked the batteries up, and she fired after a couple seconds of cranking. Didn't want to idle on her own for a few minutes, but now she idles around 600, not sure if that's normal, seems a little low? For the first few minutes there was a lot of steam/smoke coming from the...

    M818 Won't crank

The engine oil was the only fluid I've found missing so far. Air filter is there. I put 4 charged batteries in, and tried to crank her. Got the thud. I marked the belts to see if it was moving. Sure Enough, it was making small movements. I gave it a few thunks every couple minutes so I didn't...

    M818 Won't crank

I picked up my M818 from Redstone earlier this week (http://www.steelsoldiers.com/military-vehicle-road-trips/50617-redstone-m818-recovery.html). I've been working on fixing her up this week. The first thing I did was a field repair to the radiator that was damaged by a forklift. Next was...

    Redstone M818 Recovery

Last Tuesday Wreckman and I headed out to Redstone Arsenal to recover my M818 with his 915. I had to tow it due to the radiator being punctured by a forklift...never fails. We met WM just off post and headed to the GL office. Mike (One of the Redstone GL guys) was nice enough to load us out even...

    Upping the fuel

Andy: I believe you are running way too hot! Post turbo should be 800, 900 MAX. Bad things can start happening above 800. I believe its about a 300 degree drop across the turbo, so your running ~1300 pre-turbo, which is in the danger zone I believe. Here is some more info...

    euc process

I was also told after a year you start from square one. My last one was 2 years ago, and the first one I had done since then (last month) was send to Battle Creek on a Wednesday, and I got my PIF the next Tuesday. 4-5 Business days there, not bad!

Redstone Arsenal, AL to Phoenix, AZ

Would he be interested in towing an 818 4 miles off post? MY EUC came thru today, and it's new home is just off the GL lot up Mem. Parkway. GL guy said they have a towbar I could borrow. I can also assist with his 816 if he needs help preparing for the trip. I would drive mine off but the...
