Yeah, but do you keep it in a locked garage? That was their requirement the last I checked. Perhaps, you have such facilities. I have had that arrangement at times in the past, but there are others carriers, such as GULFWAY, that do not require locked garages.
Glen, I don't know that this is false, but I believe it to be. I have never heard of different Allisons for this series. I suppose it is possible that you learn something new everyday. I will await confirmation, but my initial thought is your intel is incorrect as you suspect.
I am not FROM upstate NY, but my family has a farm up there in Cherry Valley, NY right near Howard (ZEBEDEE). You are maybe 45-60 minutes from Howard's place. Welcome. The CUCV is a great choice for a truck.
I personally think you will be better off finding an M925. It is possible that you'll find a kit cheaply. With that said, my experience when looking for a winch kit (that I did not buy, by the way) was that they run in the $1200-1500 range. I am not sure all of the parts that you'll need, but...
Thanks for the response. I don't want to buy one. While I believe Brandon would help if he was closer, he is in NC so either paying him to move it two miles in MD, borrowing/renting it, or buying it is not really feasible. I eventually want to buy a 20 ton tag along trailer to move the...
Anyone have access to an M172A1 or a 20 ton tag along trailer? I am currently considering the purchase of an M548 variant. The trucker cannot get his truck and low-bed trailer into my area close enough to my house and I don't want to have to drive the vehicle 2 miles on back roads. Well, I...
I agree with Mark on the CTIS. I have had many A2s, and I have never had one that had working CTIS...at least that worked for very long. That includes the couple where I replaced every CTIS part. You want to talk about an investment in parts?!?! The CTIS on my M928A2 works to some degree...
Sorry for the delay in responding. The low end power difference is noticeable. However, the differences would vary by truck. For example, I have two A2s right now. One runs stronger than the other, but neither has as much power from a dead stop as my A1. I have an M927A1 (with the NHC250)...
The M923 is probably the better buy if all things are considered. The A2s generally bring more money. WHile I like the quiet motor, the NHC250 has much more low end torque. Plus, while many parts are consistent across the various series, some parts are A2-specific (translation, hard to find...
Not sure the answer to your question, but I have much of the arctic heater kit for a CUCV...new. It is NOT complete, but there is enough there to put heat and defrost in the cab with many other parts. I know the parts for the tranny heater, battery heater, etc. are not there (at least it is...
