The shop where I did the work on my MEP-002A had a butt load of glowplug adapters for doing compression tests.
ALL of them were metric threads. The MEP-002A and 003A use an SAE thread which is not common.
If anyone finds a 7/16x20 threaded glow plug other than...

I called Eric at Champion (Federal Mogul) 800-325-8886. Champion 182 (a.k.a CH42) is the correct glow plug.
It is 24V, 7/16" x 20 thread.
Are there alternatives? probably. I don't know who made the DRX00042K I bought but it works fine.

I don't think .001 will make a difference. The buttons are sized in .003 steps.
Do a compression check.
I had a really bad piston. I had a ton of blow by and would flood the engine with oil after a 10 minute run.

Check the schematics in the -12 and -34 for both MEPs (002 and 003)
I know one of them REALLY is illegible. They are the same in all four manuals best I can tell. I blew one up and printed it out so I would have it handy. It doesn't have the TM number on the printout since I enlarged it.
