About to pick up my MEP 003A

While I love what these last set of posts have been talking about..... [I too work with microcontrollers and just these types of circuits] I think the thread is being hi-jacked. Please start a new thread with this topic. I can see it getting a lot of hits and input. There are super...

About to pick up my MEP 003A

It can be made to work.....BUT.... MY guess is it would work :p BUT It might require a bit of work. (Sorry, I'm an engineer, I can't help myself from taking things and re-designing them to new functions) If I had one just lying around, I'd make it work. But for the price and effort, I...

Calling long-time owners of MEP002As--Vibration level question...

I wrote about the valve adjustment procedure for the 002A in this thread: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?94245-MEP-002A-Valve-Adjustment-Procedure No concensus reach. But you have a couple candidates for testing the A vs. B arguement. -Paul

About to pick up my MEP 003A

Frequency meters and Load meters are the same for both 002a and 003a generators. Only difference is if the meters come off a MEP-112A (400Hz) machine. Verified by looking in the parts manuals for each unit.

    Compression Testing on MEP 002A/003A

It is finished!!!!! Hey all, Just a last note on the generator's saga..... N1OTY came down today and we used his CEP spider box, 4 1500W heaters and one 750W hot plate to load test the generator. So we had 24.4 Amps on one leg, 29.4 amps on the other leg. 120V, 60.4 Hz. 6456 Watts being used...

MEP-002A Starts Stops After Switch is Moved to Run Position

If the above doesn't help, the third thing is the K1 Start relay inside the control cubicle. But that is less likely than the above symptoms.

    MEP 003A No start

Check out : http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?93268-002a-wont-start-when-hot Look at least at post 29 You did mention the control lever was a little sticky earlier. The solenoid may be retracting properly, but the control lever may not be coming up. It is pulled up by a spring inside...

    MEP-002a keeps kicking off line

K-1 won't stay energized unless the motor is running. You can fool it though. Take the leads off the oil pressure switch, short them together. Then turn the start switch to the start position and release. K-1 will have energized. The engine thinks it has oil pressure and is not over...

    IP timing questions

IP parts recognition training Schooling time..... Let's make sure we aren't confusing "Tappet" and "Timing Button". It wasn't completly clear to me until I rebuilt my pump. The red arrow points to the plunger guide. Sometimes called an "Oldham Drive". That is what most likely broke in your...

    IP timing questions

While there are a lot of similarities between the Civy Onan and the MEP-Onan, There are some very significant differences. The TM's are very thorough and (mostly) correct. I suggest using the TM methods over the ambac and civy Onan manuals. I have 'em all, but use the TM mostly. There is a...
