This is an airplane tug, towing cap. is 50,000 lbs. ZF plantary axles at 22.5 to 1. Weights 12,000 lbs. 6.2 chevy diesel, turbo 400 with a 208 NP clocked straight down. I had one.
No, this axle is not from my truck, i picked up one A3 front and three A3 rears. The date on this rear axle is 1999. If this is a problem need to make a sleeve and install it with a spindle nut, turn are the CTIS air and spary this area with soupy water to check for leaks.
The wonderfull CTIS on the M35A3, who is the idiot that came up with this retrofit? This is what i found on the rear, the only way to know is in a ( i have some extra rears) destructive test. brake it down, cut the backing plates off. Saw the spindles off, i took a punch and a small hammer...
There is a guy just below me in Seabring that had 3 of these halftracks, they there in outside storage, rough condtion. He sold the property about 7 years ago and moved. I know were he moved, and he moved alot of junk, but hope he did not scrap them. I will check this week.
The A2 winch will not work on the A3, it is the frame mounts for the winch, they are totally different. The A3 winch is mounted much lower in the frame than the A2 to clear the radaitor and after cooler.
Mc dill is only a skip and hop for me, about 45 miles. I have a military tow bar and heavy jumper cables. There are many probelms to overcome just to drive it back to apllo beach.
Did you get those pci's i sent? I am like a dog paddling in deep water trying to come up with disc brakes on 5 ton. I found someone that does, BUT you do not use f550 calipers on a rotor and can it 5 ton brakes.
