Now with the 002a the hertz meter is notorious for failing due to the transducer. The voltage gauge and hertz gauge are the only 2 that will work with the initial start up. The percent load gauge will not move until a load is applied. You have to make sure the reconnection switch is pointed to...
You stole that unit brother. I bet it doesn't have that many hours on it; way to nice in the engine compartment for 6,000 hours. Don't ever go by hours.
I really don't think guy is being arrogant. He is trying to help people prepare, it doesn't take much time to read and exercise the machine each month. I know everyone has very busy lives but when your faced with a deadly situation and you can't keep your family safe because you didn't have...
Ahh, sorry I misunderstood. The fuse is located right above the oil filter canister. Its a small circle cap that is usually gray or white. Push it in and turn counter clockwise, the fuse usually comes off with that cap.
Are you talking about the contactor, which takes the current from the generator to the lugs? If so, the A/C interrupter switch on the front panel needs to flipped to the closed position.
They usually have a 180 thermostat but I have seen a couple with 190 and 170. They will usually raise about 10-15 degrees above the thermostat opening, in response to ambient temperature.
Most of the time when they return from service, they went through a tier 2 replacement. Tier 2 is when the machine is rebuilt to new standards and several parts are automatically replaced no matter what, that includes engines. They wanted these machines to be like new again for another...
I've had a couple of engines stuck that I was able to loosen by pouring ATF fluid and carburetor cleaner into the cylinders. They actually out performed units that were runners with the same hours.
I would also like to mention, that you have to find a generator dealer, that services the machine. I bought a Kubota 11000 a few years ago because I have a Kubota tractor dealership nearby and thought they could help with parts and other things. Nope, absolutely no help but they did try to sell...
Also make sure your ad is specific but not overly expressive. Most people glance over the ads so you have to hit the high points of the generators but don't just list specifications because people don't understand specs. They just want to know what it will run and if it will run their house. LOL!
I've got 4 for sale right now on craigslist for $2900-$3200. The key to selling them, is you really have to wait till there is a need (i.e. winter storm, tornado's, storms, etc). I usually sale a bunch right before winter, October-November. I'll get a few during the summer so I can be ready for...
Welcome. What you want to look for is a 004a as you can convert successfully to single phase only. You will have to complete the sewerzuk conversion, which is located on a thread here or youtube. But the downside is, the 004a use around 2 gallons per hour and a fully loaded 003a (10kw) or 803a...
