They definatly look like the 112-s, They are on brackets that are painted with carc and the plastic the housings are made from is the exact same color as my m35 tail light housings.......Is it posible they where some sort of improvised add on?

Thats the way most all trucks are now days. Respectivly they would have been be fine through the trucks "given service life" But there old and way past that now. Thats why PM is key element to a safe truck.

Are these IR lights? I have never seen them made out of plastic with plastic lenses. Anyone have a clue? The bulbs are missing

There was some consern about the bushings not supporting the vertical load in this position but rightfuly the magnetic feild should center the armature centered and the load off of them.
Ok, I was going to say if you needed to soak small amouts of stuff I.E. carburator parts Barryman Chem-Dip works EXCELENT, But is quite pricey.

For what its worth my dad had a '77 dually with a 454 & 4speed that came factory with 4.56 gears. Yes it only liked abut 55-60 mph but that was also on a 31-32 in tire. I would think that with 37's you would be fine. As far as MPG? Ha your going to be hard pressed to get better than 10-11 mpg as...
