    Log / Grapple Truck Project

I looked at the Blueox trailers when I was running my sawmill. They are real exspensive. Looks like you are running a tree service? Is this firewood or saw logs you are trying to sell? I don't think there are many mills that will buy saw logs from yard trees. They are usually too windswept and...

    SF-97 in KY

GL is mailing back the title application on Monday so I should be set on the one truck... The other I have to wait for a corrected title. Fayette County told me that Frankfort will bounce that other form back because the seller is a private contractor. Technically we are the second owner of...

    17 Deg F. Startup

Me too: I am hauling arse out of the dreadful south first chance I get. I love cold weather, but I hate this 55 deg one day 1 deg the next. I like to light my wood stove in November and let it burn out in April. This lighting it at night and letting it go out in the morning sucks.

    New GL Hold List?

On the first hold for a while it looked like that would be the case. They informed me that if 60 day's came and I was unable to remove the property because of a hold I could request a refund on the property without a penalty. I think at this point all of these trucks are already picked up. It...

    SF-97 in KY

I have made countless trips to Fayette county clerk. One of my titles is wrong so that has to go back to florida. The other I am waiting for GL to fill out the KY title application because Fayette will not accept the bill of sale or price on the title as the price payed... The retail value for...

    Glass and glass cutters

Gimpy: Good luck with the cutting. If you can find a shop to do it for you you will be saving yourself a lot of headache. I have tried multiple times to cut it as was described above... I just don't have the skills.

    GL and the SF-97 goofs

One of my M35A2 titles has an extra number in the vin. The sheriff caught it when he inspected the vehicle... Now I have to wait another 4 weeks for a new title. They got the number right on the bill of sale, but wrong on the paper that actually matters:(

    17 Deg F. Startup

Your cooling system holds about 11.5 gallons of coolant compared to a deuce with 8 gallons. People will disagree with me but if you want to benefit from a block heater you need a bigger heater. The 600 watt may be fine in Virginia where the temps do not fall below zero much, but in New England...

Quick Start metered dose ether injection

Temps are Farenheit... I had our local Republic Diesel order the tank from another location up north. Cost was $27.69 which was a lot better than what the local Napa wanted.

Quick Start metered dose ether injection

Dave: It is metered dose... It will not get any more than 6ccs of propane or any other liquid. I should of tried MAPP while I was at it. Faulty valve would be a risk with anything including ether.

Quick Start metered dose ether injection

I have done a lot of reading up on these systems since I started this thread and yes I agree they are better than spraying a can of ether at the air intake. For starters I only need one person to do it with the injection system. In the long run even if I have to buy a can per year it will be...

Quick Start metered dose ether injection

Okay so I broke down and bought the ether refill for the starting system. Ether does work better than propane, go figure:mrgreen: Here is the video:

Bidders Beware: GL is draining all fluids on trucks

I don't know who is supposed to do the draining, but I remember reading somewhere on the terms and conditions that they drain the fluids out of mechanical equipment. Prior to buying my deuces I have never received anything wit any fluid in it. I have bought water pumps, generators, hydraulic...

Bidders Beware: GL is draining all fluids on trucks

Fluids in the equipment while being moved makes the load hazmat, so they are supposed to drain them.

CARC paint;how to remove-yet another question...

Yes CARC is nasty stuff. The DOD even went as far as putting out a publication on there being a very high incidence of "gulf war syndrome" in service people who spent a lot of time sanding and repainting trucks and equipment in theater.

Bidders Beware: GL is draining all fluids on trucks

I believe they are supposed to drain all the fluids on everything before they sell it.

Select Vehicles on Hold GL WHAT?

No worries: a bunch of us got the same letter... They will be doing an awful lot of traveling if they want to inspect these trucks still....they are all over the country at this point.

    New GL Hold List?

I got the same letter with my trucks listed... I am not too worried. I have the trucks and the titles. One is in my driveway they can come inspect it anytime they like. The other I sold and if they want the address to the new owner I will be happy to provide it.

    M35a2 block heater

I guess Virginia doesn't get cold enough for anybody there to have a block heater in a gas car... here is one application list from kats that Amazon publishes. Amazon.com: Kats 11610 600 Watt 38mm Frost Plug Heater: Automotive I did not see a single diesel vehicle on it. Here is a list for...

    M35a2 block heater

farm: I think you have the best solution for anybody who does not want to pop out a freeze plug. Also the wattage advantage is obvious. If you think about it we are talking a motor that holds 8 gallons of coolant. The applications that are listed for a 600 watt heater are all in the 3-4 gallon...
