If this unit has the Baldor 3KW generator head , it may have similar VR as Hatz / Baldor DG3E . Operator is advised not to start w/o a battery connected as will damage VR.
Bought shop manual ($35 ?) from Continental Engines in Greenville SC. Used it a lot. They were very helpful. Here is image of spring I referenced. Visible on far right near threaded rod that exits gear case. Removal of two fasteners (one is nut on the threaded rod) on side of case allows...

I have repaired four of these units. Donb't know that I ever saw a TM. here are TMs for similar Baldor units. I used manuals (Hatz and Baldor) for operator and Hatz Shop Manual for 1B30.Smart to give the fuel system a good cleaning. Seem like good units but parts are $$$. Likely to have...
If no fuel to injectors, may wish to verify that your IP is fully and properly bolted to engine block. I had a second O-ring on my pump ( one on pump and one stuck on block) which helped it remain out of tolerance when mounted. Simple error but kept pump from operation.
Anyone have easy access to a clear closeup photo of the yellow decal located on the R6602 valve cover? Attached is best example I have. Need a readable image if available.
Had similar problem. Got IP rebuilt at Diesel Fuel Injection Service, in STL . You will KNOW when fuel is flowing properly as small opening at nut will produce much fuel. Pump was my defect. Ensure pump is seated tight against block otherwise no flow. There have been several posts on IP work.
The 16 gallon metal drums were a bit hard to locate. Farmers used to get grease in them. Best source I found was a local oil company which moved grease / oils from tank car to drums.
I paid $24 for one which subsequently leaked so they gave me a second (had same problem) . Fixed both easily...
Because of limited space and difficulty moving large fuel containers, I have used smaller (16 Gal.) metal drums. My understanding is that long term storage of diesel fuel is best accomplished in full metal containers to mitigate chemicals leaching from the container and to lessen moisture...
My MEP-003 was bolted to two treated 2x6's to which four , free turning 8" solid caster wheels had been mounted. This raised the unit 10.5 " which was just right for exhausting through the open garage window where the house back up power connection is located. I've had no problem rolling the...
Saw 2-18-10 post on this topic. Suggests not use multi -grade oils in air cooled units.
"Are these air cooled engines? Multi-grade oil is a no-no for air cooled engines, the high temperatures will burn the viscosity-modifying polymers and the oil will break down. Straight 30w is the way to go...
Yes sir that worked for me. Vise held metal housing and I just placed taped edge of pipe ,which fit inside housing , against front side of rubber bushing. You should be able to tap it out quickly. Take care to not damage the electrical pins/ wire ends /connectors. For assembly it seems best...
Does this help? The copper wire end connector was fabricated from copper pipe and a copper reducer coupling. I took one slave cable connector apart using my bench vice and a short pipe section to force the rubber compression bushing out of the back of the metal housing. Lubrication helps...
