On mine I had to put a fuel filter before the mechanical pump due to trash from the tank getting stuck in the pump valves, ruining the pumps over and over. -
Went and did it again…
If you leave them both alone in a garage at night in 9 months you might get a Mighty-Mite. -

Not sure what brand tires he put on it, but Firestone Transforce are $208 ea and crappy Power Kings are $163, so quite a bit of value there for 4 tires including tax and balancing etc. I have Transforce on mine, a good highway only tire. -

Porkys has a very good point, the fuel pickup is plain steel and can get very rusty. M884 with new tires is worth $1500. -

Page 122 for error 85 and 86 discusses the TISS and TOSS sensors providing inputs to the brain that the brain is not expecting, leading to brain going to limp mode. Checking these sensors is where I would start. -

Eco Hubs and 3.07's - in a 2000 M1088 with a 3126 (~24k pounds)
I believe the reason these hubs are working out so well is that previously the Cat spent all its time at redline against the governor whereas the torque peak is half that. -

The data plate on the OP's truck was installed when the trucks went back to Sealy for reset some time in the late 2000's. -

Sure is wrong, the Sealy TX plant has been closed for 10 years now. They meant "03". -

Looks OK for the most part, only red flag I see is the dash is pulled, might be the start of some troubleshooting, or, if you are lucky, some cannibalization. Check your driveshaft phasing. -
