That is still Rancher's Supply... that used to be a bridge truck, but he yanked the bed off of it and put HEMTT wheels on it. I think he wants $16k for it.

RE: Yours is cooler
Hey, I'm in CoSprings and have a couple of CUCVs... Including a Suburban that I'm turning into a CUCV clone... if you want to get rid of some of that 3/4-1T crap, let me know... LOL

RE: M1008
Sounds to me like the passenger's side alternator for the rear battery is not working or the rear battery is dying. Check it with a voltmeter and see if it has a good charge, and then when you get it started, check to see if it is charging. The rear battery's only job is to make 24...
Hook the voltmeter to it and then energize the GPR... if it works, then the voltage will quickly drop to 12V range if all are working right... higher than 12V if you have plugs burned out.

RE: dangerous truck
I am not going to get into the personal issue except to say that safety is the most important aspect of any job and the issues that have been raised in this post are valid ones. Don't discount them because of ego or a defensive attitude. Everyone here only wants to make sure...
You don't have to replace the rubber hoses in the system to convert to R134a, only the O-rings on the fittings if you are concerned with their age. I've done several successful conversions over the last few years with no leakage issues, the oldest being a 1978 Bronco. The only parts I replaced...
Before you condemn your card as being bad, make sure to check the position of the small gauge orange wire on the glow plug relay. That wire is the voltage sensing wire for the card and the TM wiring diagram for its position is WRONG.
The TM states that the orange wire is supposed to be...
Umm, no... R12 was automotive and R22 was for residential/light commercial A/C and refrigerators/freezers...
You are correct that R12 is/was only available to licensed HVAC technicians and is hugely expensive now because production of new R12 ended in 1995. On the other hand, a licensed shop...
I need a complete, uncut front wiring harness from the firewall to the front lights, a coolant overflow bottle and mounting screws, an instrument cluster (mostly the fuel gauge), and a wiper motor.
I have a bunch of parts off my parts trucks to trade... shipping might be prohibitive though...
Re: RE: Odd way to start a CUCV
That's a good way to do it if you can find a big enough fuse to handle the current requirements of the vehicle.
The only place the two systems should meet is the starter relay under the dash, the rest of the time, it should be isolated.
The 12V feed has to...
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: CUCV Question
I've still got the front clip off my 1009, I'll get a couple of pics of the setup without the bumper on it tonight or tomorrow.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Expansible Van Body Corroded Stuck!
Rancher's Supply down in Lamar has a couple of expansible bodies... dunno if they'll sell parts off of them or how much the parts would be though.

The outriggers are attached to the truck, the boom jacks are attached to the boom... the pic above is a pic of the right front outrigger. The attached picture shows the use of the boom jacks.

I think you two are getting a little confused on terminology. I believe that one of you is referring to the outriggers, and the other is referring to the boom jacks. The boom definitely cannot turn with the boom jacks in place and a load on the hook.

Hi Bill,
That's a really nice truck... just a quick question, were you Power Pro in the Air Force? I ask since you are working on Cat power plants. I was Power Pro for almost 10 years before I got out.
